Eaton Mission Systems, formally Cobham Mission Systems, is seeking a Quality Engineer Manager at our growing Orchard Park, NY facility. The Orchard Park facility has approximately 400 employees and is a leader in the design, manufacture, and test of high precision Aerospace components. Position Overview: The Quality Engineer Manager will manage the quality of the assigned integrated product team (IPT – value stream) responsibilities along with the ability to provide quality function expertise. This position will actively manage a team of Quality Engineers to ensure we meet and exceed our customer(s) expectations. The QE Manager establishes stakeholder relationships that foster a positive partnership, facilitate resolution of customer issues, and provide technical support during the life cycle of assigned products. Offers Quality leadership, coaching, support and knowledge of quality philosophies and disciplines to internal and external customers in the coordination of quality improvement efforts. In this function you will: Deploy significant quality expertise to provide tangible benefit to the organization (product cost, quality, metrics etc.) Manage, coach, and mentor your quality team by providing mentoring and training support for current and new Quality Engineers and Quality Engineering Technicians as applicable. Member of the Quality Leadership Team which set site vision, mission, and objectives for Quality Lead, liaise with and coordinate other quality team members to ensure that all relevant Quality metrics are recorded utilized and appropriate to their purpose Lead cross-functional corrective action and/or continuous improvement teams in significant quality activities or programs. Assist with the preparation of the information needed for the monthly site quality council review Responsible to manage CAB board activities for assigned IPT Take part in continuous improvement by participating in Root Cause Problem Solving Projects. Maintain performance management Key Performance Indicators and ensure active participation of your team in daily SQDIP boards and participate in performance management meetings. Leadership in APQP and its deployment in the assigned Team (IPT- Value stream) To use the latest quality, problem solving techniques and best working practices (PDCA/DMAIC, SPC, Process mapping, Cause and Effect Diagrams, 5 whys, Fishbone, A3, 8D, etc.) Ensure proper handling of non-conformities and customer complaints, assuring that the root causes are clearly defined and that corrective actions are put in place and sustainable Lead Quality issue investigation and resolution using problem solving techniques Identify, develop and implement systems that will assure product conformance to specifications. Work within the organization to execute changes and improvements to the quality management system. Support Failure Mode avoidance activities (PFMEA/ DFMEA etc.) Creation and control of PPAP/ISIR documentation for internal and external parts When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution 3+ years of management/supervisory experience in quality or manufacturing 8+ years manufacturing experience Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee or Refugee. No relocation will be offered for this position. Only candidates who reside within a 50 mile radius of the Orchard Park, NY facility will be considered for this position.
