Eaton’s Electrical Crouse-Hinds division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer (Iron castings & Specialty Machining) – 1st shift to join our team. This position is based at our Syracuse, New York facility. Relocation assistance is available. Position Overview: Driving process improvements to ensure that we meet or exceed ISO 9001, ATEX, and IEC standards. The role reports to the site’s Quality Manager, supporting our Iron castings and specialty machining value streams. This individual uses direct customer feedback to drive quality performance improvement in the eyes of the customer. Key responsibilities include: Influence quality direction for the supported value streams Monitor and measure progress toward quality objectives and facilitate development of action plans to address root causes of negative trends and variances to the objectives Maintain existing external certifications and meet Eaton’s internal quality expectations Promote a Quality and Continuous Improvement culture by demonstrating ownership and accountability throughout the supported value streams Participate in the planning, development and execution of short term tactical and long-term strategic plans to meet value stream objectives Ensure appropriate quality processes and tools are in place and being utilized consistently, facilitating training as appropriate Be responsible for ensuring that Environmental, Health, and Safety are included as part of everyday activities. Preferred Qualifications: A quality or CI credential; examples include ASQ certification, Six Sigma Green/Black/Master Black Belt, Lean Mfg. Experience in Quality Audit programs Experience with quality tools and methodologies, including physical inspection of parts, to drive quality performance improvement Experience in problem solving techniques and quality improvement initiatives Familiarity with machining & plating operations Experience with ensuring compliance to ATEX/IEC standards Position Criteria Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others. Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills.
