Job Description

Eaton’s Electrical Division is currently seeking a Quality Inspector to join our first shift team.

This position is based at our Perth, Ontario facility.

 

Reporting to the Operational Excellence Manager this position is responsible to support the returns groups with incoming inspections, to ensure supplied material meets product specifications.  The quality inspector will investigate non-conformances and partner with suppliers to improve product design.

In this function you will: 

  • Coordinate the handling and management of defective material and arrange for disposition through interactions with the Mod Shop, Material and Engineering staff and suppliers.
  • Assist Product Return Center (PRC) staff with the inspection / evaluation of returned product, including, but no limited to, excess stock and warranty claims.
  • Interact with internal and external suppliers to improve component and assembly design to improve manufacturability and reduce cost.
  • Perform functional testing on products and conduct defect analysis. This includes creating detailed analysis and reports for both internal and customer use.
  • Perform various incoming, in-process and final inspections.  You will also coordinate incoming inspection procedures and systems.
  • Schedule and conduct in house calibration services for specified mechanical equipment.
  • Coordinate the Quality Control and Nonconformance (NCR) systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, and where possible, complete improvement updates to production components and assembly drawings.  Also, identify and provide design suggestions for improving testing methods and product reliability.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent level of education from an accredited institution.
  • Must be able to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates within an 80-kilometer radius of the work location will be considered.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a manufacturing environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Community College Diploma, in electrical/electronic field from an accredited institution.
  • Two or more years of work experience in the electrical/electronic/technologist role.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility.
  • Experience in the assembly or repair of product preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience of utilizing mechanical tools and measuring equipment required for assembly and calibration.

  • Works independently with minimal direct supervision
