Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position is responsible for executing the defined Strategic Quality Plan in conjunction with plant leadership in Tijuana Mexico. Under the leadership of a QA Manager, works closely with current Eaton Product transitions sites to ensure all quality requirements are met for production in Tijuana, Mexico. As Quality Lead, this position will have the responsibility to align the resources and evaluate their effectiveness to define actions to improve their performance and exceed their expectations. The position is responsible for overseeing and leading all activities associated with manufacturing and production of deliverable product to meet customer expectations. The leader monitors and manages salaried resources in the assignment of work responsibilities, development, and alignment of resources to make sure the Quality Requirements are understood and met. The position drives continuous improvement in quality while utilizing the framework of the Eaton Business System (EBS) and the Eaton Quality System (EQS). This position would lead Quality process team utilizing Lean/Six Sigma tools and corrective action teams using 8D methodologies. Interface with internal and external customers and also suppliers. Drive quality system improvements and organizational development. Provides quality assurance support to customers, suppliers, partners, and internal manufacturing cells and participates in continuous improvement activities in targeted areas. Executes the Quality Assurance strategy to ensure product flow consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements, and assuring compliance with the suppliers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Effective management of the QA resources through Eaton Leadership Model. Train and develop team members as well as providing oversight and coaching to other team members as part of the Development of Resources. Actively engage and recognize employees for their results and provide coaching for areas of opportunity. Empower employees – drive decision making down through organization Work as a team with the support departments in order to define necessary actions to meet customer requirements. Support Eaton Initiatives and practices for the Development of People by using tools as the Succession Plans, OCA, ELM, CIF, FLL and EBS tools. Provides Quality customer interface and expertise to proactively assure requirements are understood and satisfied, including assisting in complaint resolution and root cause and corrective action determination. Supports Supply Chain Management organization relative to the collection and analysis of supplier quality data providing expertise and assists suppliers with product and process quality requirements. Executes the development, implementation, and improvement of the appropriate Quality Management Systems throughout the operation, providing advanced quality planning support in the development and launch of new products, processes and services. Participates in the auditing of internal Quality Systems and completes part approval documentation to assure that customer requirements are met in new or modified products and processes, including Suppliers’ Quality Systems. Analyzes organizational quality metrics and performs periodic reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps at an operational level. Develops and analyzed statistical data and product/process performance to recommend and implement improvements in targeted areas. Contributes in the design and implementation of quality assurance training programs and conducts training quality related topics. Participates in product development and launch activities including identification of customer expectations, manufacturing and test support, reliability analysis, design reviews, evaluation of test programs, material testing. Provides support in the way of development and evaluation of process capability process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions and process audits. Develops, implements, and audits inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures/work instructions. Investigates and eliminates causes of quality problems and follows up on corrective actions, including issues with suppliers. Participates in the design, procurement, maintenance, and evaluation of gages, measurement instruments, devices and test equipment. Participate in the Customer Scorecards Review and support actions to improve their satisfactions as applicable Coordinate evaluations in the supplier performance to address those where risks are being identified with the Supplier Quality Team. Support with the implementation and sustain for the Quality Initiatives, including PPAP and CAPA processes to support the Quality Lead Indicators DIMENSION: Performance Metrics (High 5) CONC (Rework, Scrap and Warranty) DPPM (External and Internal) FPY Quality Lead Indicators Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: 5 years in Quality System experience in Aerospace Industry Preferred. Bachelor’s degree Bilingual English/ Spanish Good communication skills Computer Skills Blueprint reading knowledge Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality registration schemes and certification processes (ISO9001, AS9100) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering MS, MBA is a plus Green belt certified is a plus ADDITIONAL INFORMATION New Employee Orientation Skill Matrix trainings The activities mentioned above are declarative, no limiting.
