Job Purpose:

The Associate Scientist QMP Business Unit provides functional leadership to implement, maintain and improve Quality and Food Safety Management program across the region’s manufacturing sites to ensure that finished products are safe for human consumption and meet customer, consumer, and regulatory requirements to achieve business objectives.

 

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma WITH 5+ years’ experience relevant manufacturing/quality experience.
  • Associate degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Food Safety, Engineering or related technical discipline WITH 2+ years of food plant experience in a responsible position related to food safety or Quality and food safety management system.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Food Safety, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 3+ year of food plant experience in a responsible position related to food safety or Quality and food safety management system

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages the implementation of Global Quality and Food Safety standards to ensure compliance with applicable statuary and regulatory food safety requirements
  • Manages Internal audit program, CAPA, Quality and Food Safety change management process as it relates to new products, equipment, or process
  • Manages third party Quality and Food Safety Management systems certification audits
  • Leads Q&FS continuous improvement projects within the site
  • Leads in combination with Associate Director Q&FS Central Systems product related incident management process and provide recommendation on product disposition
  • Responsible for reviewing Global standards, leading gap assessment to the standards and regulatory requirements, including Food Defense Plan and continuous improvement of quality systems
  • Manages external audit programs and the internal quality audit function for the site through training associates, creating audit schedule and ensuring a robust and corrective and preventative action process
  • Collaborates with Q&FS Site team and supply partners to conduct the Q&FS management review at planned intervals to ensure suitability, adequacy and effectiveness of the Q&FS management programs
  • Partners with supply, R&D and other key stakeholders to implement changes, new process or new products in a safe manner and implement product quality conformance system
