Responsible for the implementation and management of site quality policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate standards are met during the introduction and volume production phases
Lead an effective quality team, supporting the development of team members and providing the framework and support to deliver departmental KPI’s
Leads the development and implementation of quality test plans and procedures, supports the development of product performance test plans and procedures, and oversees the testing of processes and products
Supervision of staff within the production environment, with a pro-active focus on creating a quality first culture
Train and instruct new hires within the quality department, collaborating with the training department to provide the appropriate level of quality training to all employees
Supports regular customer and supplier visits and audits as required
Ensure appropriate resolution and implementation of corrective action for quality issues
Support the development and implementation of quality control improvement projects
Collaborates with peers to support and deliver improvements to the business supporting a continuous improvement culture within the site
Assist in the building and launch of new MFE quality lab
Assists in the preparation of operating and capital budgets
Work closely with TriVista to order and install quality lab equipment
Provides leadership and set standards for performance for the manufacturing organization; periodically review reports on department performance, quality, cost and key business indicators. Develop and implement improvement plans when needed
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of new technologies which may improve operations, and develops recommendations accordingly
Requirements:
Technical Engineering degree
10 + years prior quality management experience in discrete manufacturing environments
15+ years of quality experience. Ideally 5 years’ experience with world class manufactures such as Toyota, Danaher, etc. and ideally worked successfully at smaller organizations
10+ years of successful leadership experience building strong cross-functional teams.
Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing principles with the ability to show concrete ROI through operational efficiencies and waste reductions
Adaptability – be able to adapt to varying time constraints, resource levels and organizational situations
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate cross-functional dialog at every level of the organization
Must possess excellent communication skills in written and spoken Mandarin and English
Technical capabilities with Injection Molding, Sewing, Painting, Metal working and assembly operations
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and intranet/internet. Ability to use work order system
Attention to detail
Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
Knowledgeable and effective in the application of quality management tools, including: SPC, root cause analysis, FMEA, control charts etc.
Certifications needed: Lean, Six Sigma etc.
Serves as the primary quality resource for compliance and effectiveness throughout the plant and ensures adherence to quality controls such as Internal Audits, Traceability & Recall, Hold & Release, etc.
Provides leadership and technical assistance to help resolve quality related problems
Reviews and sets up new specifications and procedures used by manufacturing
Ensures materials conform to their specifications and deal with issues arising from non-conforming materials including hold and release of in process or finished goods
Reports deviations and inadequacies to the appropriate Manager
Audits quality systems & manufacturing practices and ensures that products are produced to specification and that all documentation requirements are consistently adhered to meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
