Hansecontrol is an independent testing laboratory providing chemical and physical testing services of textiles, apparel, shoes and toys to importers, exporters, retailers, wholesalers and textile manufacturers. Hansecontrol has served the European market for over 30 years through its headquarters and laboratory in Hamburg, Germany. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Quality Manager �C at our well established testing laboratory based in Dongguan, China.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clear leadership for the development of an environment focused on Quality, developing quality-process links in-line with the Quality Management system for ISO/IEC 17025 and according to principles of ISO/TS16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHAS 18001.
Key Responsibilities:
・ Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance. Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on quality activities.
General and Task Management
・ Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance, integrity overall. Ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies. Respond to customer complaints putting in containment actions, full analysis, poka-yokes (error proofing), risk based analysis according to FMEA principles by implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures. Champion a program for the implementation and sustainment of a continuous improvement culture. Act as a point of contact for warranty issues and monitor quality costs by implementing zero defect philosophy within operations. Update quality documentation and communicate to carry forward lessons learned from quality concerns to Hansecontrol network and global quality manager to aim and develop best practice for the group for a fast driven TIC environment.
・ Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits, especially ISO/IEC 17025 by taking into account national requirements for CNAS as well IAS. Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate. Train others in all aspects of the quality system and application of procedures. Undertake internal and process audits of the Quality Management System (QMS). Being pro-active in getting resolution of internal/external quality concerns by establishing risk based measure and monitoring effectiveness. Establish and refine quality sign-off instructions, standards and documentation.
・ Report against agreed quality metrics on a monthly basis. Lead regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving quality. Reduce the effect of non-conforming with the aim to get zero defects overall. Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems. Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility. Ensure KPIs are met by working to the overall plan, including management of, and reporting. Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required.
・ Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors. Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department by using tools like FMEA, 5-why, turtle method, 8D-reports, NCR-process, SPC, etc.
People Management
・ Coach and develop the local team which consists of functions like operations, report, customer service to a high performing Quality Operations team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements. Motivate and coach the team to operational success. Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems like LIMS or implemented reporting tools data based orientated. Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them. Review, implement and update company records e.g. training matrices, performance reviews, risk assessments. Provide technical expertise to the team by controlling the data maintenance in core systems like LIMS, etc.
・ Prepare the annual Quality budget and forecasts proposals as well as ensuring compliance with legal standards.
・ Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the quality strategy. Communicate with stakeholders the impact of market change and potential effects on TIC market requirements. Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in-line with quality as well compliance and integrity requirements to fulfil accreditation based requirements overall.

・ Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental national and internal standards e.g. ISO 14001, OHAS 18001 or equal. Proactively contribute to create a good team atmosphere. Takes ownership for team cohesion, is self aware, is resilient, optimistic and open to change. Being a self-starter and motivated by being able to positively motivate others. Focused on targets with a positive, can-do attitude or mentality by using positively the management of change philosophy.
To be qualified for the position, the candidate should possess the following elements:
Requirements:
・ 3-5 years of Quality, Engineering or related experience.
・ Membership of an industry related professional body would be advantageous.
・ Significant experience in a high volume manufacturing environment, preferably TIC environment or automotive or another fast driven operation industries are required.
・ Proofed knowledge in windows application software like word, excel, power point, MS-visio and LIMS based systems are required.
・ Lean Manufacturing skills and good statistical experience is a plus.
・ Demonstrated leadership, project management, and facilitation and problem-solving skills.
・ Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
・ Thoroughly understanding of ISO/ IEC 17025 and understands principle of further quality standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949) and quality tools like FMEA, SPC, 8D and handling of corrective/ preventive action.
・ Computer literate with ability to work all Microsoft Office programs is a must.
・ Knowledge about principles or best practices in the Health, Safety and Emergency areas is a plus.
・ Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
・ Excellent organisational and follow-up skill
・ Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
・ Understand legal and other Safety requirements; complete thorough Plan-Do-Check-Action (PDCA) periodic audit and review of system/process outcomes
