Plans, organizes, leads and controls the quality function, both Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA).
Tracks plant quality performance, COPQ, NCRs, reworks, customer complaints, delivery, analyzes trends and works with production to determine and implement corrective actions, report quality data to PST central quality.
Works with customers and production in addressing quality questions or problems, providing recommendations, establishing and monitoring corrective actions.
Coordinates and/or performs internal audits per established schedule to evaluate location’s compliance.
Coordinates external audits by customers, corporate quality and ISO registrar. Develops and implements corrective actions to address non-conformance identified by audits. Maintains ISO registration and helps establish AS-9100/NADCAP certifications.
Coordinates and/or maintains process gauges to ensure calibration and proper operation. Ensure that calibration schedules and QC procedures are established and followed.
Develops/reviews/revises quality system procedures and SOPs as necessary. Maintains and controls procedures, instructions and records. Relevant temporary change authorizations (TCAs) are maintained and kept current.
Responsible for lab services to support production. Insures that samples are evaluated per PST procedures and standards. Maintains met lab equipment and evaluates technician performance. Assists production with special investigations.
Coordinates training schedules for quality programs and maintains training records. Provides quality orientation to new hires. Supervises quality personnel including training, direction, controlling work procedures, etc. to meet objectives. Trains and mentors subordinates to increase skills and guide career development.
Implements quality control guidelines and procedures to ensure that raw materials and finishing goods comply with engineering and product specifications. Supervises technicians in conducting quality assurance tests to ensure that products meet established specifications.
Requirement:
- BS technical degree, understanding of quality tools and methodologies and 5-10 years of relevant experience
- Experience with quality systems like ISO and AS are strongly desired. Knowledge in NADCAP is preferred.
- Management experience with direct reports is desired.
- Must possess organization skills with the ability to use resource materials, to manage multiple projects, make effective presentations and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Excellent human relations skill is required.
- Self starter, result oriented, delivers on commitments.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
