Role Summary: The Quality Manager, Site and Contract Manufacturing will support the definition, execution, and deployment of the strategic Quality Plan for full realization through the Energy Automated Solutions (EAS) business. This position is responsible for achieving established short- and long-term objectives for quality metrics. In addition, this position is responsible for leveraging the tools and processes of the Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS) to achieve continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of the Quality Management Systems as measured through Eaton’s prescribed metrics and standard assessment practices. The position drives the administration of product warranty programs and is accountable for driving functional performance results at the division level to improve Customer satisfaction and global competitiveness. The successful candidate will build organizational capability by mentoring and developing functional and leadership talent. As EAS is heavily integrated with a contract manufacturing strategy, the Quality Manager must provide direct leadership and strategy development for supplier qualification, systems, and performance characteristics to ensure product conformance and drive enhanced Customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: Responsible to lead EAS on developing, maintaining, and improving the quality system which includes leading efforts to maintain ISO 9001 certifications. Serves as an escalation point for Customer and supplier’s quality requirements or issues. Responsible for working closely with sourcing teams in the development of common goals, and strategies between Product Development and Sourcing (Spend, Cost targets, PPM, OTP) to meet business strategy needs. Leverage commercial influence through interface and influencing of global procurement organization when dealing with quality issues and conversely leverages quality and delivery information dealing with commercial issues. Responsible for providing common and standard approaches for supplier performance, including: Sourcing criteria support Quality requirements: APQP, PPAP, Discrepant Materials Report (DMR), Cost Recovery Focused priority level support for major operational quality issues Drive quality and warranty performance improvement Work closely with sourcing teams in the development of common goals, and strategies between Supplier Quality and Sourcing (Spend, Cost targets, PPM, OTP) Develop real-time product reliability monitoring utilizing automated solutions Participate in Quality and Supplier forums as representative for EAS Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution Minimum of eight (8) years of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working with supply chain contracts and agreements including terms, timing, and language Expert at leading, improving, and maintaining quality system (ISO 9001 certification) Proven ability to develop complex business unit and major company purchasing contracts Fluency both verbal and written in English and French Self-motivated with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, which include knowledge of complex supply chain strategies and solutions Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams and work effectively with others Ability to influencing of the procurement organization when dealing with quality issues and leverages quality and delivery information dealing with commercial issues Ability to work with Customers as an escalation point of quality issues Ability and willingness to travel within Canada and United States up to 10% Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree from an accredited institution Experience with Electronic Manufacturing Services contract manufacturing business Experience with working with Software and Electronic development teams Agile development experience Six Sigma Black Belt certification Experience with leading and influencing multiple remote workers and locations Why work at Eaton?
