Position Overview Siemens Large Drives Applications Business Unit is looking for a multifaceted individual who will partner with the Operations Engineering department to proactively identify and implement improvement solutions This role will focus efforts on quality assurance within our engineering processes; distinguishing between “standard” & “high complexity” engineering processes. , Role to focus to eliminate risks in order to ensure continuous quality, reduction of rework / nonconforming costs (NCC), and increased engineering efficiency. Responsibilities The Quality Engineer for Operations Engineering Process will Completes analysis of existing processes to ensure effective operations, specifically targeting the ability to produce world-class quality engineered solutions. Performs sophisticated analysis and investigations; gathering data to resolve process’ potential to create a non-conformance. Provides recommendations for processes to ensure alignment with strategic direction. Coordinates vital process changes (through standardization, improvement, simplification, discontinuance, or other methods) and leads implementation of solutions. Primarily responsible for the development and implementation of complex performance measurement and improvement initiatives. Integrates business processes between multiple organizations. Actively participates in the order design phase to ensure error-proof manufacturing and engineering techniques are applied. Responsibilities of this position will include conducting audits of our Integrated Management System as a part of our internal audit team. Conducts and facilitates team-driven root cause analysis of product or process failures and drives implementation of efficient and effective corrective actions. Supports and facilitates use of Q-Methods like FMEA, CAPA, Fishbone, Fault Tree Analytics, 8D, Lean, 5-Why, etc. Identifies and resolves more sophisticated problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to take care of most situations. Frequent communication with inter-organizational & external contacts. Qualification Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required 5+ years of proven of analysis and implemented solutions with positive business benefit required Proficient with Microsoft Office, data analysis and reporting, and written/verbal communication required Considerable experience utilizing problem solving tools & quality assurance methodologies including Lean Six Sigma, Plan-Do-Check-Act (A3), 8D, Kaizen, , Error-Proofing, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), 5-Why, Ishikawa required Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Belt preferred Demonstrates knowledge of ISO 9001standards and auditing preferred Ideal candidate can use Engineering experience to tackle sophisticated challenges and can lead teams to implementing solutions. Ideal candidate should excel at building relationships and selling the importance of Business Excellence/Continuous Improvement - be both hardworking and aggressive at how the work is approached.
