Eaton’s Power Quality Division has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Specialist on 1st shift in Raleigh, NC. Position Overview: The quality specialist will perform a variety of duties to ensure the production quality of all products in accordance with establish Lean Manufacturing workmanship standards, assembly procedures, ISO 9001:2000 Quality system requirements and the Eaton Quality System. In this function you will: Perform receiving inspection activities to ensure incoming parts meet current part drawing specifications Initiate follow up actions on non-conforming parts, including writing QNs and coordinating rework Prioritize any Hot parts that come through Receiving inspection working closely with the Materials/Receiving team and the Production Supervisors working closely with the materials team, Supervisors, Quality Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers Assist in quality audits, workmanship defect reduction efforts, corrective and preventive action identification, analysis and reporting, inspection of returned units, special inspections Assist departments in meeting product quality targets by working closely with Engineering, Materials Management and Operational Excellence Perform inspection activities and videos/photos on in-process and completed assemblies as required. Analyzes and reports production non-conformances. Coordinates feedback on problems affecting quality, BOM, tooling issues, raw materials, training and prints) to Supervisors and Quality Engineers., Mfg. Engineers, or product Engineers as needed. Initiate, participate in and/or coordinate internal 8D corrective actions (CARs), Failure Effect Mode Analysis, and Control Planning to include follow-up of vendor 8D corrective actions Train and educate associates in product inspection to drive performance improvements and communicate quality standards on an ongoing basis to Production Supervisor and teams as needed. Create Final Inspection programs and assist in developing actions for continued Quality System improvements. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: 1 year of previous quality experience High School Diploma or GED from an accredited school Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of Raleigh, North Carolina will be considered. Position Criteria: Ability to frequently stand, bend, and walk Ability to distinguish colored wired Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to use forklifts and power industrial equipment Must have basic computer skills Ability to use standard computer applications: Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint required Ability to use good judgment and problem-solving skills to make informed decisions Demonstrates a strong customer service attitude Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to prepare, read, analyze, and interpret product drawings, manufacturing documents, quality specs, and industry/trade magazines. Working knowledge of ASQ and ISO auditing standards Preferred Qualifications: Basic understanding of the principles and methodology of Quality Control and Quality Assurance Minimum of 3 years experience in quality, manufacturing, and/or engineering of electro-mechanical devices Two years post-secondary education with an associate degree in electronics or equivalent related education such as Vocational Technical School Understanding of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing concepts preferred Lock-out/ Tag-out Knowledge Eaton Product knowledge We make what matters work.
