Eaton’s Power Components Division is currently seeking a Quality Technician - 3rd Shift to join our team. This position is based at our Beaver, PA facility. Relocation assistance will be provided. Position Overview: This position will analyze diverse quality problems to result in solutions, train manufacturing personnel in the use of quality techniques and verify the quality of a variety of parts, products, and processes to effect continuous quality improvements. In this function you will: Solve the day-to-day quality problems to encompass all parts, products, and processes to improve quality. Involve the affected departments, coordinate, and report solutions. Provide guidance to others in establishing quality control techniques for determining, maintaining, and improving the quality of manufacturing operations. Make decisions pertaining to quality and determine responsibility for failure to meet quality standards. Set-up and implement quality conformance criteria and control charts and monitor for adherence to standards. Assist engineers and supervisors in establishing or changing methods, techniques, or materials for existing or new apparatus for the control of quality or improvement. Collaborate with engineers and supervisors on related drawing changes. Inspect parts or product (using measuring tools, mechanical, and electrical equipment) as required for manufacturing procedures and processes, document and report results. Perform mechanical or electrical tests that are required in the manufacture of the apparatus to determine that quality is being maintained. Assist in the development, wiring, and programming of current and new test equipment. Chart data gathered from various quality checks to be used in analysis, decisions, and feedback for quality improvement. Supervise employees, as needed. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Associate degree or equivalent. Two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future. Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates residing outside of a 50-mile radius of Beaver, PA Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical / electrical / industrial engineering Experience in blueprint reading or mechanical drawing Supervisory experience Experience interpreting and inspecting dimensions using GD&T from engineering drawings ASQ Certified Ability to operate Coordinate Measuring Machines to perform inspections Ability to use measurement equipment (i.e., micrometers, thread gauges, among others) Position Criteria: Possess knowledge of a wide range of problem-solving tools and methods and analytical/ statistical techniques, including 8D; Six Sigma; problem definition; basic data collection – pareto, histogram, scatter plot; brainstorming; 5-why’s; fishbone; cause-effect; error proofing; Variation Analysis, SPC, MSA, DOE Ability to select and apply problem solving tools and methods to make data-based decisions to sustain higher levels of process or product quality. Possess knowledge and understanding of National and International Standards (e.g., ISO / AS / TS) and where applicable other Industry related standards including specific customer requirements. Ability to use proven tools, techniques, and methodologies to inspect products, measure process performance, perform product verification and validation testing, and to provide feedback reporting as required. Ability to strategically define the Critical to Quality elements of a product/process, and the knowledge to effectively analyze, assess and mitigate the risks associated with any potential failures, using tools such as FMEA, Control Plans and Process Capability Studies.
