Job Description
The Quality Technician is dedicated to ensuring products meet the required quality standards before they are used in production and sold to customers. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager/ Supervisor and will work Monday-Friday, 6:30 am-3:00 pm, but may be asked to work overtime on short notice, including weekends when required. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds. Responsibilities The Quality Technician will be responsible for supporting Quality department processes and initiatives, including the following specific to this position. Conduct shop floor and incoming inspection using micrometers, calipers, FARO, CMM, and other measuring equipment. Process suspect or rejected material for non-conformance Review quality records for accuracy, job information for part numbers/labels/drawings, and maintain product traceability records. Assist manufacturing technicians with all quality issues, prepare teams for ISO audits, and maintain calibrated tools. Support corrective action activities by investigating the root cause and completing 4D and 8D reports. Identify areas for continuous improvement. Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing plant with knowledge of dept functions and processes. 3-5 years of experience in a Quality assurance/ inspection role with knowledge of quality management systems/ concepts, ISO9001 or similar, and experience in the abovementioned responsibilities. 2-3 years in an incoming inspection role using sampling plans. 3-5 years of experience inspecting fabricated metal parts using calipers, micrometers, and other quality measurement tools, along with judgment to determine the correct method. Experience and proficiency in reading mechanical drawings/blueprints and international inspection standards are essential. (ISO, DIN, etc.) 2-3 years of experience with electrical and mechanical assembly processes, including reading and interpreting electrical schematics and assembly drawings.
