This is a R&D Engineer role reporting to the R&D Team Manager in the Business – Motion, Motors & Generators located in Shanghai, China.

Your responsibilities

• Participating in new product development project, creating concept design, series design, design verification, design validation for electrical design part and writing technical report.
• Participating in review of project deliverables for electrical part and serving as technical advisor to provide specialized technical support to project team.
• Supporting to platform manager to analyze electrical performance on product series, and regularly provide proposal to platform manager for making product upgrade or improvement.
• Undertake and study on topics related to electrical design software, e.g. thermal network, electrical analysis etc. and provide requirement of new development or maintenance for electrical design model.
• Supporting to on site problem solving, supporting to do electrical related RCA.
• Building up network and cooperate with other ABB company in China and abroad, and cooperate with them on new product development project, new technology development and new technology communication.

Your background

• Must have a master’s degree or above with major in Electrical Automatization, Motor design with priority.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in motor industrial work with solid knowledge in electromagnetic design.
• Must have good command of electric design on asynchronous, synchronous motor electromagnetic design, good grasp on motor structure, heat transfer theory, electromagnetic vibration, noise related knowledge and excellent in motor- driving theory and should understand electrical motor material, production process.
• Must be fluent in written, reading and oral English communication, CET 6 will be preferred.
• Proficiency in more than one of the listed tools: office365, Maxwell.
• Must be a good team player with good communication and presentation skill.
