This is a mechanical R&D position to support R&D for new permanent magnet alternating current (AC) servo motor product. You will define basic model of motors for assembly, interact with customers in defining specifications. As R&D Engineer you will be reporting to R&D/ Technology Manager in the Business Area –Motion located in Shanghai, China.

Your responsibilities

• Being responsible for mechanical design of permanent magnet AC servo motors.
• Getting Involved in R&D work for new servo motor construction design based on project/customer requirement.
• Coordinating with electrical team to verify servo motor performance and quality.
• Working with internal colleagues on component development, cost saving, improvement, etc.
• Defining servo motor product cost analysis and cost reduction plan based on project requirement.
• Defining technical standard/criteria for servo motor assembly line.

Your background

• A bachelor’s / master’s degree in mechanical engineering/Mechatronics. Special course on servo motors, servo drives is desirable.
• Must have 5 years of mechanical design experience with motor design, should have worked for a multinational company or technical area in a motor industry.
• Have a fair knowledge with machining and assembly process and have worked on AutoCAD and Solid Works.
• Familiar with regulations and codes of related motor standards.
• Test and measuring equipment SAP exposure, servo motor industry experience and familiarity with motor testing will be added advantages.
• Must have a positive attitude, be self-motivated, responsible and flexible, have communication skills, a team player, willing to learn and quick to learn and have a systematic approach to solve problems.
