Job Description

How will you make an impact?

As a research and development engineer you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team creating next generation HPLC columns with a focus on UHPLC and capillary/nano column products. Our work exists at the intersection of biochemistry, analytical chemistry and separation science. As part of the chromatography consumables business, you will collaborate closely with scientists and product marketing as we brainstorm creative approaches and tackle complex problems to introduce new and improved products for a wide range of customers including the clinical, pharmaceutical, and regulatory industries.

What will you do?

  • Conduct R&D activities with the emphasis in UHPLC and capillary/nano column packing method development and chromatography evaluation
  • Perform design-of-experiment (DOE) for packing method optimization
  • Develop reliable, economical, and reproducible packing methods for UHPLC and capillary/nano columns targeting UHPLC and capillary/nano applications
  • Transfer column packing methods from R&D to Manufacturing
  • Coordinate the activities between Operations and R&D to ensure the good alignment and create synergy
  • Write SOP and work instruction according to ISO 9001 requirements
  • Optimize current technological processes
  • Perform analytical analysis to support development efforts
  • Maintains laboratory equipment and instrumentation, and recommends replacement as needed
  • Interpret results of laboratory activities to laboratory personnel and management
  • Troubleshoot production issues, act as the “last resort” for manufacturing team
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

How will you get here?

  • You have at least Bachelor's degree in chemistry or mechanical engineering, or a closely related field focusing on liquid chromatography separation
  • 1-3+ years of related experience 
  • Experience with use, design, and development of equipment for high pressure fluidic application
  • Knowledge of design and development of consumer products and associated workflows such as BOMs, etc.
  • Experience working in teams with multidisciplinary and diverse backgrounds
  • Experience with computer assisted design/drafting software SolidWorks (preferred), CAD, or similar
  • Fluent in English and Lithuanian

We will be excited, if you also have:

  • Previous experience with UHPLC, HPLC, or capillary HPLC 
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems such ISO9001 standards
