This is a R&D Engineer - External role reporting to the R&D Team Manager in the Business Area - Robotics & Discrete Automation, located in Shanghai, China.

Your responsibilities

• Writing and validating the manual and internal documentation of robot products.
• Following ABB manual and documentation process and quality standards.
• Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

Your background

• Bachelor's degree in English, technical writing, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of technical writing experience, at least 1 of which is specific to engineering industry or robotics industry.
• Experience with agile and comfort with rapid iteration and fast delivery, experience with modular or topic-based documentation.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (mainly Illustrator, FrameMaker and Photoshop), MS Office tools, Skribenta and DITA tools preferred.
• Working knowledge of Solid works, Composer or other 3D model drawing tools, knowledge of STE and Microsoft technical writing styles to product high quality and professional artifacts and knowledge of Trados translating and translation skills are preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with remote team, proactively engage subject matter experts, and follow through on commitments made.
