This is a R&D Engineer - External role reporting to the R&D Team Manager in the Business Area - Robotics & Discrete Automation, located in Shanghai, China. Our R&D engineers and scientists develop breakthrough technologies that change the way the world works, and industries do business. We constantly push the limits of convention, while retaining our focus on delivering solid returns for our customers and shareholders.

Your responsibilities

  • Being responsible for robot controller test environment setup.
  • Being responsible for controller level debug and test, e.g. environment test, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) test, safety test etc.
  • Being responsible for prototyping tracking, e.g. material management, Purchase Order (PO) tracking, acceptance test etc.
  • Being responsible for lab Six Sigma administration.
  • Being responsible for instruments maintenance.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years working experience, major in electronics engineering, automation or equivalent.
  • Good command of ABB robot operation, ability to setup and program independently.
  • Proficient in PCB soldering.
  • Good command of lab instruments, e.g. oscilloscope, multimeter, power analyzer, noise generator, data recorder etc.
  • Good written English, able to read and write English documents.
  • Experience on CE/UL certification is a plus.
  • Electrician certificate is preferred.
