As a R&D Engineer-Mechanical you will be responsible for production/product technical problem solving, identifying root cause of problems and prevent the similar problems in the future , in Electrification Business Area in Jiangmen, China ensuring product continue improvement for cost and performance

Reporting to the R&D team manager, you will ensure the smooth and high efficiency production with product knowledge and technical innovation.

Your responsibilities

• Leading and executing the product localization project to ensure timeframe, quality and cost requirements, supporting and executing for new product development project industrialization to ensure timeframe, quality and cost requirements
• Providing technical support for improvement projects such as OPEX saving, FPY, second source, etc
• Leading of engineering change implementation in manufacturing unit, clarifying product/part requirement and performing sample evaluation. Leading trial production & small batch production for the quality validation
• Responsible for mPart& mBOM maintenance in gPLM, providing technical support to other projects (e.g. global second source) and executing the product optimization development project (POD)
• Solving problem (participation to QC level 2) and providing the technical support for production issues analyzing & solving, supporting PFMEA evaluation and supplier audit
• Providing support to production and other departments during the internal/external process/equipment start-up, defining the product testing parameter
• Responsible for material consumption making, adjustment, and supporting for stock material handling. Setting up product direct cost benchmark, product direct cost monitoring and early warming
• Being responsible for mold investment application evaluation and decision making, providing technical support to mold supplier if technical problem happens

Your background

• 3 years of working experience with minimum 1-year experience in product design, basic financial knowledge, understanding the project management process
• Excellent multi-department cooperation skills, familiar with PPAP and problem-solving tools such as 6 Sigma, 8D report, DOE, FMEA, SPC, MSA, etc
• Knowledge of commonly used engineering materials, e.g. metals, plastics, etc, familiar with moulds and jigs. Proficient in MS office, understanding of AutoCAD, CREO or UG
• Understanding the function design method, good at using function design method including tolerance analyzing
• A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or relevant fields
• Must have strong analytical skills and good communication skills, know how to observe, analyze the results caused by process changes or design issue, and taking rapid actions to prevent them beforehand.
• Ability to work independently without supervision and able to handle high volumes of work. Good at oral, reading and express technical solutions in English
