As a R&D Engineer – Software, ABB Smart Power is a global technology leader, with solutions that make power supplies smart, connected and protected. Its intelligent solutions make power more competitive by improving the energy efficiency, productivity and reliability of almost any operation.

You will contribute significantly to successful results in projects in HUB Asia Product Group/ Smart Power Business Line/ Electrification business in Xiamen /China country/NAS region. Reporting to the EPPC CN R&D SW Manager, you will take responsibility of requirement analysis, architecture design, software coding, debugging and related documentation.

Your responsibilities

• New products development including requirement analysis, architecture design, software coding and debugging.
• Develop SW according to Configuration Management rules and internal coding standard.
• Prepare and manage technical documentation.
• Plan and conduct software implementation.
• Work closely with other developers, test engineers, PM and customer to support planning of software verification.
• Provide on-site support.

Your background

• Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• 2+ years of Embedded Software development experience.
• Knowledge of common Network Communication like HTTP and MQTT, Configuration Management and software development models. (e.g. Water Fall, Agile).
• Familiar with C/C++ language, Linux and familiar with at least one script language.
• Skilled in Cyber Security and Industrial Software (e.g. SCADA) is preferred.
• Understand how build (include cross compile) process works. The theory and purpose in each step during build.
• Basic knowledge about high level language like C# or QT and its working environment.
• Proficient in OOP, RESTful and MVC concept.
• Good interpersonal skill within team work.
• Available to short-term abroad assignment.
• Fluent in oral and written English.
