-Lead and coordinate the new product development efforts and insure that newly developed or localized products meet the design objectives and appropriate standards in the agree timing.  Focus on creating and implementing manufacturable and cost effective Pressure Sensitive Tape designs and then provide Engineering support to the transition process to production. Follow-up till the products are turned-over to Production.

-Document organized design plans that include, among other items; Analysis, test procedures, specifications, regulatory compliance information, process parameters, drawings.

-Get full understanding of market, customer, product application or product requirements. Work closely with the Sales, Product Management , European R&D colleagues. Study existing specifications and conduct analysis of present (competitive) samples to better understand the requirements. On this you will be supported by Lab Assistants. Establish and document full new product and performance requirement specifications.

-Select the right components which meet the physical property requirements for new products development, such as Adhesive, Carriers, Release Systems, other. Must be able to balance selection decisions with regard to performance and cost. 

-Search and qualify new raw materials and/or sources of raw materials. Assist in vendor qualification and development. Ensure process feasibility of the different components on our manufacturing lines (coating, slitting, lamination, ...)

-Redesign & upgrade old products according to customer needs or due to changes in availability of certain components / raw materials.

-Technical service for new products during qualification stage. Advises management on technical trends and evolutions. Investigates and disseminates knowledge pertinent to new adhesive and film technologies and products.

- Accept the EHS and related training and education arranged by the company. Responsible for emergency response within the scope of responsibility according to the requirements of the emergency plan; responsible for the compliance of product safety during raw materials selection for new product development.

• Be creative and innovative by inventing new applications, technologies, and etc. Be creative and innovative in searching for cost savings for existing and products in development. You drive the process according to the Six Sigma Methodology 

• Have a systematic and logical approach to problem solving. Being hands-on, analytical , using creativity and being innovative. Be able to provide technical direction within the organization and with customers.

• Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with people at all levels of the organization and be able to work within and lead a multi discipline group.

• Be familiar with the typical analytical property test methods like FTIR, GPC, Rheology, X-Ray, GCMS,... and the typical physical property test methods like FINAT, ASTM, PSTC, ...

• Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint . Experience with Lotus Notes, MS Exchange, MS Project or MS Visio are a plus.

• Be confidential, protect/safeguard trade secrets and respect Intellectual Property.

• Good command of Mandarin and English.

• Bachelor /Master in chemistry, polymer physics or engineering (chemical, polymer) or equivalent

• Adhesives, Resins, Chemicals, Plastics or Nonwoven Industry. More than five years hands-on product development background, or more than two years product development experience with Master degree.
