Roles:
  • Lead the Quaker productivity and brand maintenance agenda across all platforms
  • Drive technical project leadership and program management along with all R&D cross functions

Accountabilities:
  • Drive profitability by enabling productivity and specific brand maintenance projects across Hots, Cold and Innovation platforms
  • Lead product/process/packaging brainstorming to build a short term/medium term productivity pipeline leveraging consumer needs, regional preferences and strategic opportunity areas
  • Collaborate with the cross functional category & supply chain team members to seamlessly commercialize and execute projects
  • Serve as the AMENA/China productivity point person with global teams to drive collaboration and enable L&A of global best practices on short term and transformational productivity
  • Drive capability building across R&D/Ops team to identify potential savings/efficiencies in current/future product/package and manufacturing solutions

Measurements:
  • This is a R & D productivity/Brand maintenance lead role and hence responsible for overall R&D deliverables including and ensuring coordination between all relevant R&D functions including GFGC to deliver a one R&D voice to the business
  • Role requires good understanding of the China business dynamics and Hots/Cold/New platform technologies including grains processing, oat milling, powders, CPD, baking etc.
  • The role will require strategic partnership with PepsiCo Category and Operations team to build relevant commercially feasible innovation plans.

Work Relationships:
Internal:
  • This job requires extensive cross functional interaction and collaboration internally. This includes daily within R&D: Sensory, packaging, nutrition, regulatory, processing, QA and analytic, pilot plant.
  • Category and Operations leads including LG1+ leadership
  • Finance, HR etc
External:
  • Suppliers/ flavor house / technical resource externally / industry network / supplier resource
  • University/TCM

Qualifications/Requirements

Requirements:
  • Degree in food science and food engineering or adjacent subjects,
  • Excellent Communication skill include writing and speaking both in Chinese and English
  • <10 years working experience in Food manufacturing or Food research institute.
  • <5 years working for Multinational Food Company in product development.
  • Good knowledge about the adjacent technical functions includes material science, technical regulatory, technical consumer insight and packaging, lab and warehouse management.
  • Basic understand of nutrition, and its claims, China regulatory, able to deal with claim risk management
  • Previous productivity, Lean Six Sigma knowledge/experience would help
  • Good people leading skill and talent development experience
  • Ability to leverage Technical Business Management capability to influence corporate strategic and decision making
  • Excellent presentation skills (written, verbal and software), ability to explain complex scientific issues/solutions to a non-technical audience.
