This is a R&D Senior Engineer role reporting to the Team Leader in the Business Area – Motion located in Beijing or Nanjing in China.

Your responsibilities

• Working as part of the Drive Product Servo Drive Product Line R&D department, Servo motion team.
• Developing embedded firmware for motion servo.
• Working on maintenance of old products and participating in new generation products development.
• Supporting technical requirement specification and concept proofing of new technologies.
• Analyzing customer needs and transferring into technical solutions.
• Leveraging best-practice software engineering processes, utilizing appropriate tools.

Your background

• Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Automation preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
• Strong software development background, familiar with all aspects of the software development life cycle. Experience with embedded system development preferred ARM using C/C++; alternatively, FPGA are preferred.
• Experience in Industry application especially Servo or Drives, knowledge on motion product application, experience in working with version control tools, for example Git. Experience with scripting language such as Python, UML.
• Experience of working in a scrum environment / development team, experience with modern SW development tools, such as Keil, IAR, visual studio is preferred.
• Familiar with FPGA developments, coding and simulation, familiar with industry fieldbus protocol such as EtherCAT, ProfiNet, and with developing within embedded operating system environment; RTOS such as ucOS, FreeRTOS, eCos, ect. Knowledge on SW testing and test automation.
• Good English communication skills (in oral and writing) and positive attitude and an international (work or study) experience and willingness to travel domestically, a few weeks per year.
