Job Description

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, R&D Specialist II, are to: 

 

  • Provide technical competence in protein manipulation and biochemistry that supports crop protection research;
  • Support cloning and expression of target proteins;
  • Develop and deploy high quality molecular and cellular assays to support pest and pathogen control discovery research;
  • Support the development of specific plans and acts as the hands-on, primary researcher to deliver results and technical success for crop protection research;
  • Forecast work schedules and resources required for success in assigned specific discipline;
  • Communicate frequently with project teams and Leads on functional teams to assure understanding of progress and gaps and to align on primary and contingency plans;
  • Sustain clear knowledge of current status and plans for area of research responsibility, and new developments in assigned technical discipline;
  • Generate experimental results to support proprietary developments and intellectual property, and freedom to operate;
  • Manage laboratory environment for reagent supplies and develop/maintain safety protocols;
  • Be responsible for experiment set-up, data acquisition, stewardship, analysis, and reporting to manager.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree with minimum one year of relevant experience; industrial experience in Molecular Biology, Bioassays, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field;
  • Demonstrated competency and success in operational excellence in research execution and results;

  • Executing research strategies;
  • Solving technical and logistical problems to sustain progress toward goals;

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Master’s degree.
