YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, R&D Specialist II, are to: 

• Provide development expertise for new formulations by providing Pilot Scale knowledge and advise and Startup assistance for production plants;
• Assist Product Supply and Supply chain by performing studies related to product quality and assurance of supply;
• Prioritize and can coordinate work within a large team;
• Provide training to third party reports;
• Maintain detailed record keeping and required documentation;
• Be accountable for cross-functional work within platform and/or across process areas;
• Manage third party reports as requested by leadership;
• Achieve commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and best practices;
• Perform data analysis and can interpret KPIs/metrics to monitor and report on any issues as well as identify opportunities for improvement and communicate lab related issues to team members, leadership and key partners as appropriate;
• Solve problems of routine to moderate scope; optimizes workflows;
• Validate methods using multiple data sources;
• Use specialized scientific techniques to conducts experiments and process improvements;
• Follow Management of Change/ISO best practices when implementing process improvements;
• Adhere to established protocols and techniques;
• Operate and troubleshoot instrumentation;
• Solve routine problems requiring original thinking and deductive reasoning of diverse procedures within specialized laboratory technology;
• Skilled in organizing and reporting specialized reports, including analyzing and interpreting the results of experiments, production KPIs and/or cost/benefit analysis as appropriate;
• Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement of data fluency through participation in formal and informal opportunities to increase skill level;
• Thrive on meeting challenges, insist on high quality deliverables, demonstrate effective problem-solving skills and will have proven initiative in some categories of accomplishments, either individually or as part of a group.

Required Qualifications:

• Non degreed with at least 10 years of relevant experience OR B.S. with at least two years of related experience in academia or industry OR M.S. in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or related field with relevant experience;
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills to work as part of a team and across functions in a dynamic work environment;
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results on established timelines;
• Familiarity with ISO and quality considerations through workflow operations/management;
• Proficiency with database applications and Microsoft Office applications;
• Proficiency with data analysis and visualization software.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Formulation Development, preferably Agro-chemical formulations;
• Pilot Scale experience and Troubleshooting of New formulations,
• Especially using KDL or ECM milling equipment;
• Knowledge of Chemical Production environments, practices and processes.
• Experience troubleshooting and Problem Solving for a variety of formulations produced locally and globally.
