Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, R&D Specialist II, are to: 

 

  • Under the guidance of senior scientist, act as Study Director for drift and volatility testing in wind tunnel and humidome studies;
  • Accurately generate, record and report scientific data that must pass internal and external (regulatory) auditing;
  • Support automation of data analysis and visualization via scripting programing languages including Python and R;
  • Assist senior modelers to perform baseline environmental exposure and drinking water assessments for BCS products in accordance with EPA(US) and PMRA (Canadian) regulatory modelling methods;
  • Evaluate field and laboratory environmental fate study results to derive quantitative degradation kinetics using North American and European regulatory methodologies;
  • Remain current in policy requirement of regulatory exposure modeling.

Required Qualifications:

  

  • Master's or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Environmental Science, Biology, chemical engineering, or related field or non- degreed with 10+ years of relevant experience in Environmental Science, Biology, chemical engineering, or related field;
  • Experience in monitoring wind tunnel and humidome tests;
  • Understanding of environmental fate processes of crop protection products;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment and constructive interactions and information sharing with other Research and Development functions;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communications;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to interact with, support, and build relationships with all levels of management;
  • Experience in a programming language(s) (such as R and Python).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Skills in spatial analysis (GIS);
  • Statistical application in data analysis.
