This is a R&D Team Manager role reporting to the R&D Team Manager in the Business Area - Robotics & Discrete Automation located in Shanghai, China.

Your responsibilities

• Working as a robot application software team manager in R&D department. Leading and developing people, being responsible for the R&D staff and competence development.
• Leading the execution of R&D project portfolio to achieve scope, schedule (on-time-delivery), financial and quality commitments, including all day-to-day activities and priorities.
• Delivering high-quality, scalable and cost-effective solutions that meet business requirements over the product lifetime.
• Securing and controlling R&D cost according to the budget together with the local controller. Being responsible for the project report and process document.
• Contributing to system and engineering tools and design method development, prototyping, risk reduction and feasibility demonstration.
• Translating and communicating the vision and strategy of Robotics Division to an innovation and product development plan for execution by your teams.
• Contributing to the performance of the local management team by providing your ideas and insight.

Your background

• A master’s degree or above in computer science, automation or equivalent with preference in software engineering and specialization in robot application.
• Minimum 8 years of working experience with 3 years of previous experience in a management position or managerial experience, organizational leadership, R&D processes, platforms and working in a global environment.
• Must have knowledge of software products processes, as well as team building.
• Must be fluent in English and Chinese language both oral and written.
• Must be self-driven and results focused with commitment to managing change, be an effective communicator and have organizational skills.
• Experience of Agile development process and Lean Six Sigma preferred.
• Must have good experience in robot or relevant product development process.
