KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Develop new technology/formulation of textile chemicals to drive the product innovation according to customer’s criteria;

• Plan and performing the lab synthesis and formulation work, and enable the scale up at pilot plant level following safe operating procedures;

· Development of chemical processes, implementation of scale up synthesis, driving six sigma concepts in the formulation sciences.

• Constantly focus on new way to achieve innovative solutions. Anticipate future trends and has options in mind to enable quick actions. Translate complex data in to clear objectives and establish practical action plan.

· Scope of work ranges from conducting experiments, to individual group interactions, to global activities.

· Effective communication with people from multiple disciplines (Commercial, R&T; Pilot Plant and Production);

• Establish, conduct and validate the performance tests on a variety of TE products using approved testing methods and standards appropriate to the sample, based on customer requirements or engineer’s suggestions
• Understand and track the failure modes during testing. Record test data, technical information and other details. Generate and revise test documents and reports (SOP’s, datasheets, methods, etc.).

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Education : PhD in Chemistry, materials science, or Master with sound experience in textile industry;

Experience : 3+ years in textile or fine chemicals or relevant industry experience.

Work experience in silicone polymer synthesis/formation, water soluble polymers, surfactant/polymer interaction in solution, formulation and properties of emulsion/dispersion/macromolecule system, colloid and interfacial science

Know-how/skills :

• Working knowledge on surfactant/polymer/silicone-based chemical formulations, including textile chemicals, detergents, defoamers, softeners, emulsions, and viscosity modifiers;
• Experience on textile testing and performance analysis;
• Statistics, Design of experiment (DOE) and data analysis;
• Literature searching/review and hands-on laboratory experience;
• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with business partners, customers, peers, scale up engineers, and industrial experts to coordinate and drive innovation programs at global level;
• Strong problem definition and troubleshooting skills.
• Data based decision making from available information.
• Has safety/ health and environmental as a value.
