Job Description

Reporting into the Senior R2R Accountant this is a key operational role which is accountable for delivering an accurate, high value consistent accounting service for your specific division/s. You will also ensure that all company policies are adhered to and that specific duties are carried out within set time limits whilst providing an excellent level of service to all Informa customers and colleagues.

 

The Assistant Accountant is expected to assume the following key responsibilities plus any other reasonable duties as required:

  • Work towards achieving productivity and efficiency for cash management operations
  • Prepare and reconcile various bank accounts through ERP system and found any outstanding items between the general ledger and bank statement
  • Communicate effectively with other finance teams to clear outstanding reconciling items
  • Responsible for general ledger posting for bank transaction
  • Provide documentation for the purpose of supporting all financial transactions
  • Maintain required files, reports, and data
  • Adhere to corporate standards and procedures in all reconciliation activities
  • Understand and apply within working practices the key drivers that impact the weekly/monthly Management Accounting reports
  • Assist in the production of financial analysis
  • Analyse and solve ad hoc problems using your knowledge of the business and the systems
  • Assist with ad hoc duties as needed, including covering workload in other teams
  • Checking sub ledgers from internal departments
  • Liaise with Finance Operations and Cash Operations for reconciliation queries
  • Publish financial results in the relevant finance system

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong academic background, Accounting degree preferable
  • High proficiency in Excel, confident with large data sets
  • SAP or Oracle ERP experience preferable but not essential
  • Good attention to detail essential
  • Has a good understanding of SSC processes and how these fit into the wider environment
  • Able to work independently and work towards hitting deadlines and priorities.
