Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with board design, board bring-up, desense mitigation, experience or knowledge with factory processes and manufacturing
  • Experience presenting/communicating technical concepts.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master/PhD degree in Electrical Engineering specializing in RF or Electromagnetics.
  • Experience with RF design in consumer products. Experience using common RF test equipment and/or antenna chambers.
  • RF design experience, board-level and firmware debugging skills. Familiarity with schematic creation and PCB design.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools and/or circuit simulation capability (e.g. ADS/HFSS, scripting and automation tools for data collection/analysis).
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FCC, IC, CE, etc.), carrier specifications, 3GPP, 3GPP2, and their respective certification process.
  • Knowledge of different wireless communication systems such as GSM/UMTS/CDMA/LTE/5G NR, 802.11, Bluetooth, GPS, etc.

Your team designs and builds the hardware, software and networking technologies that power all of Google's services. As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.

With your technical expertise, you lead projects in multiple areas of expertise (i.e., engineering domains or systems) within a data center facility, including construction and equipment installation/troubleshooting/debugging with vendors.

As a Radio Frequency (RF) Hardware Engineer, you will be part of a design team, building Consumer Electronics (CE) products in emerging areas from product concept to mass production. With a background in RF systems design and experience in building and shipping CE products, you will be working with cross-functional team on defining overall product architecture to achieve best RF performance.

Responsibilities

  • Define RF architecture, specification, design and test boards for innovative consumer electronic devices as well as to investigate new wireless technology innovation.
  • Be responsible for PCB design for optimal RF performance.
  • Work with component vendors and partners to develop the RF front end key parts and internally collaborate with cross-functional/cross-organizational teams for project development.
  • Travel internationally up to 10% of the time as required.
