YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Transgene and RNA Detection Lead, are to:   

 

  • Lead and develop a team of R&D specialists and  and contractors responsible for designing and executing experiments to support product discovery and advancement across multiple R&D pipelines (Biotechnology, Small Molecules, Biologics, Regulatory, Product Supply, Breeding);
  • Ensure project success by partnering with submitters to understand their specific biological questions, designing and executing appropriate experiments, performing detailed analyses, and using the results to influence business decisions;
  • Prioritize and manage projects in alignment with business needs and partners’ priorities to ensure objectives and deliverables are achieved in a timely manner, and in accordance with our key performance indicators;
  • Drive the molecular characterization strategy for transgenic plants with partners from Data Science and Analytics, Trait Design and Sciences, and Regulatory Sciences;
  • Influence strategy for Regulatory Sciences and other partners’ molecular characterization and mode of action studies;
  • Provide regular, written and oral presentations of results, conclusions, and recommendations to peer and management groups as well as partner organizations;
  • Develop and maintain a highly engaged Quality culture while adhering to ISO standards, and staying compliant with stewardship requirements;
  • Work strategically across Precision Genomics and NAT to maximize workforce agility and shared learnings across teams.

Required Qualifications: 

 

  • Master’s degree or higher in Genomics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related field, plus three or more years’ experience;
  • Demonstrated people leadership capability;
  • Strong background in DNA/RNA sequencing, gene expression, molecular biology, genomics, genetics, or related field;
  • Successful history working on and managing cross-functional, team based projects, and establishing and maintaining effective relationships with a strong goal-based orientation;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Excellent experimental design skills;
  • Familiarity with automated liquid handlers and LIMS;
  • Experience with ISO/Quality Management Systems;
  • Strong understanding of genomics data science methods and techniques to influence the design and execution of key data analyses.
