Key Responsibilities:

• Provides full leadership and supervisory responsibility.
• Provides operational/service leadership and direction to team(s).
• Manage communication with and coordination of the support functions within Markets and Securities Services
• Identify new risks and ensure proper controls are in place for specific functions
• Maintain and monitor the controls environment
• Develop best practice procedures within Markets and Securities Services.
• Review support functions processes and challenge procedures that are not consistent with MSS objectives.  
• Present controls developments to senior management
• Coordinate and manage any Internal Audits and Compliance Assurance

Critical Success Factors:

After 12 months, the candidate should:

• Gain the trust and confidence of the Markets Business Management teams.
• Establish a rapport with Business Managers, Compliance, Internal Audit, Financial Control and Middle Office.
• Develop a broad and detailed understanding of the organization’s landscape, culture and technology.
• Understand the various markets and the applicable regulations, which govern the markets.

The candidate will work with and have high visibility with senior managers/staff in business and support functions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or Accounting.
• CPA and/or MBA is an advantage

Skills:

• Experience in Controls and Operational Risk Management especially in securities dealing/brokering, is highly desired.
• Knowledge in advanced financial products such as derivatives, credit default swaps, etc. is an advantage
• Experience with databases, including design, developing queries, reports and macros in a dynamic environment.
• Strong Desktop/PC skill, which include working knowledge of MS suite of applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
• Exposure to database and Data Warehouse applications a plus.
