Our Global Catalysts GBU Purchasing Team in Amsterdam currently has a vacancy for a

                                                         RAW MATERIALS BUYER

In this role you are responsible for setting the procurement strategy for the sub-packages in close cooperation with the technologists, business and the plants.

You organize the daily business within a procurement sub-package: RAW Materials, Total Catalysts Management (TCM), and are responsible for the proper execution of the procurement process, among other things.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to guide the selection of and negotiation with "best-fit" suppliers

• Be primary relationship manager for suppliers of raw materials for which you are the responsible buyer

• Be an expert on the markets in which our suppliers operate

• Networking with the S&OP team, Operations, Logistics and other groups to generate AOP (Annual Operating Plan) demand forecasts by material and by supplier for use in contract negotiations

• Negotiate contracts or other supply strategies to have the right raw materials available in sufficient volumes to meet or exceed AOP requirements

• Establish and maintain master agreements and other relevant master data as a source for POs to suppliers

• Provide regular forecasts of consumption/supply requirements to suppliers

• Provide monthly price/volume/spend forecasts and reconciliation statements to Finance to support the monthly BU profit forecast

• Manage deficiencies in contract performance (late deliveries, quality complaints, blocked invoices, etc.), and ensure that the supplier's performance is in line with the contract. - if direct contact between factory and supplier is not sufficient to resolve the issue

• Maintain group functions such as KPI tracking and new projects

• Travel: 10%, mostly within Europe

Job requirements:

• HBO work and thinking level. Education (Chemical) Technology or HTS Mechanical Engineering and 3 years of relevant procurement experience.

• Possession of technical and/or chemical knowledge and experience, gained within an industrial organization.

• Knowledge of automated purchasing systems and MS-office.

• Knowledge of SAP.

• Good knowledge of the Dutch and English language in word and writing.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Personal independence to be able to counterbalance situations with conflicting interests.
