Raw Material Developer (Dry, Care and Treats)

Salary: £33,000 – £41,000 plus bonus and other excellent benefits

Location: Birstall, Leeds
 

We’re looking for a Raw Material Developer to help execute our raw material strategy at our R&D Hub in Leeds. Pets make the world a better place so it’s our mission at Mars Petcare to make the world a better a place for pets. As a member of our European Development Team, you will play an important role in ensuring every pet and pet parent receive the absolute best!

 

Reporting to the European Raw Material & Formulation Manager, you will be responsible for helping transform how we manage our raw material portfolio. You will accomplish this by supporting cross-functional projects that will deliver improved quality and performance of raw materials. You will also work in close collaboration with our Formulation Developers to further improve our Product Lifecycle Management process. There will also be the opportunity for you to build strong cross-functional partnerships with other R&D teams, Supply and Commercial departments across local, regional and global tiers in order to help us meet & maintain our world-class raw material standards.
 

 

What are we looking for?

• Degree in science or science-related fields with significant experience within manufacturing, FMCG is advantageous
• Technical skills related to raw material development, formulation development, quality management and/or commercial
• Good understanding of both supply and demand areas of FMCG manufacturing
• Demonstrated capability in project leadership & management
• Ability to handle, analyse and act on large amounts of data
• Highly organised, pragmatic with strong communication skills
• Good team player with ability to influence without authority
• Self-motivated and committed to delivering business results
• Intellectually curious to find and develop opportunities
   

 

What would be your key responsibilities?

• Supporting the technical raw material development across a variety of complex projects
• Driving our raw material portfolio to be fully optimised, fit for purpose and meeting our quality standards
• Collaborating with Commercial, Supply and Global R&D to deliver value to the business through the efficient management of our raw material portfolio
• Generating, leading and delivering quality-, efficiency- and sustainability-related projects
