Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds Division is currently seeking a Receiving Clerk to join our ICI team! This position is based at our Houston, TX – North Sam Houston Parkway facility. Position Overview: The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for ensuring all delivers are accepted, received within the inventory system, and order pulling on a daily basis. The incumbent must possess the ability to effectively communicate verbally and via written communications both remotely and in person as well as a customer-oriented attitude, good organizational skills, and strong problem-solving skills. In this function you will: Receive purchased material by checking PO against packing slip for accuracy. Utilize SAP to perform receiving functions and check material. Relocate incoming shipment to identified location after receiving using material handling equipment such as in house forklift, pallet jack, etc. Pre-use inspection of moving material when operating material handling equipment (Pallet Jack, in house Forklift, etc.) and use approved box cutters to cut packaging materials. Maintain accurate bin locations for delivered parts in SAP (ERP). Audit inbound freight for accurate count, damages, and examine products to ensure damaged products are not used in production. Replenish/replace damaged materials by following non-conforming material procedures. Maintain open and timely communication with buyers and planners regarding receipt discrepancies for corrective actions. Follow plant safety and environmental rules and regulations Operate standup reach truck for facility material movement Support plant lean, safety, quality and continuous improvement efforts Operate overhead crane to load/unload larger, custom products Unload inbound freight Perform order pulling and job staging Perform inventory cycle counting When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: High School equivalent or GED from accredited institution 1+ year working in a distribution or manufacturing environment with forklift experience Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Houston, TX will be considered. Preferred Qualifications: Operating forklift (stand-up & reach truck) to perform daily tasks 1 year experience in receiving role Computer knowledge (including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook) SAP Experience Position Criteria: Responsibilities are to be performed in a productive manner while ensuring Eaton standards of construction are maintained Responsible for maintaining work area and general shop area in a clean and orderly condition Follow standard or prescribed safety and environmental regulations High attention to detail to ensure accuracy Ability to do basic mathematical calculations Ability to effectively communicate through written and verbal instructions Must be self-motivated to work independently and meet targets Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job for 8+ hours a day and or long periods of time. Standing, stooping, squatting, can be expected along with other means transfer of tooling, parts, containers, and other raw materials. Must be able to drive in house forklift. Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull objects that are up to 40 pounds without assistance, occasionally lift more than 40 pounds with assistance. Must be able to wear daily required PPE (safety glasses and steel toe shoes) and where required hearing protection. Additional PPE requirements may exist depending on task.
