The opportunity:
We have two newly created Reconciliation Analyst roles to join our Financial Reporting Team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the financial information recorded in the subsidiary system ledgers and the Finance general ledger system is complete, accurate and current.
The Reconciliation Analyst is responsible for completion of daily reconciliations of subsidiary suspense/clearing accounts and bank accounts, monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and for monitoring that outstanding items are being investigated and cleared on a timely basis.

About the role:
Both roles will complete daily reconciliations of system suspense accounts and general ledger clearing accounts, including timely identification, monitoring and follow up with internal clients on status of outstanding items
The second Reconciliation role will also include allocating unmatched items on back statement imports
Complete monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, reconciling the subsidiary system ledger balance to the Finance general ledger balance, including identification and follow-up of reconciling differences
Contribute to high quality monthly financial reporting through delivery of accurate daily (and monthly) reconciliation processes for bank and other key balance sheet accounts
Adherence to AIA New Zealand Limited’s Balance Sheet Reconciliation Framework
Relationship Management
Build strong relationships with other AIA New Zealand divisions and teams within Finance & Actuarial
Maintain good relationships with external parties such as ASB Bank; Westpac Bank; and external auditors.
Adhoc involvement in projects and process improvements including ser acceptance testing and other tasks assigned when required.
About you:
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to perform repetitive tasks with speed and a high degree of accuracy
Time management skills to achieve daily and month end reporting deadlines
Excellent systems skills and can demonstrate the ability to quickly learn new databases (SAP) and processes
Excellent data entry – speed and accuracy
Good understanding of Excel (SAP is advantageous)
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
Sound general accounting skills
Investigative skills to identify and follow-up on outstanding items
Data entry experience a preference
