Job Description

The Recruiting Specialist:

  • Conducts full lifecycle recruiting for a variety of Exempt and Non- Exempt positions.
  • Primary objective is to partner with hiring manager to effectively source, recruit, evaluate, interview and select top talent to meet Plant Spartanburg s staffing needs.
  • Manages the recruiting activities for Exempt and Non-Exempt positions in various departments throughout the company including both internal and external hires.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws related to selection and hiring processes.
  • Develops and maintains a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified talent.
  • Establishes and maintains candidate relationships for successful placement into BMW jobs.
  • Leverages the online recruiting resources and in-house ATS (Applicant Tracking System) to identify and recruit the very best candidates.
  • Reviews resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, experience and knowledge in relation to position requirements.
  • Prescreens candidates.
  • Manages and coordinates all communication with candidates.
  • Interviews candidates presented by hiring managers through the use of face-to-face behavioral-based interviewing methodologies.
  • Manages the scheduling and logistics of all interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Organizes, leads and documents post-interview debrief/feedback and manages follow-up activities with interview teams and candidates.
  • Extends offers of employment to selected candidates under the direction of the hiring managers and within the guidelines.
  • Manages the presentation, selection, offer, negotiation, closing, and administrative components involved in full lifecycle recruiting.
  • Maintains accurate and well-ordered documentation on all candidates, searches, hiring managers interactions, and other recruiting activities to ensure compliance topics are addressed.
  • Develops an effective pipeline of key talent potentially available for immediate hire as succession planning needs dictate.
  • Participates in the development of ongoing creative and cost-effective sourcing strategies.
  • Stays informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques in order to be competitive in state-of-the-Art recruiting practices.
  • Adheres to agreed upon targets (i.e. Time to Fill and other targets as assigned).
  • Recognizes opportunities and regularly leverages emerging technology to enhance process effectiveness.
  • Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work.
  • Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

  • BS degree in HR, Business or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of Exempt and Non-Exempt recruiting experience, preferably to include recruitment of positions in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and related manufacturing positions.
  • 3+ years experience sourcing active and passive candidates utilizing different recruiting sources such as web-based applicant tracking systems, job boards, social media, recruiting agencies, etc.
  • 5+ years demonstrated ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
  • 5+ years demonstrated ability to multitask, self-direct work, and change priorities when necessary to meet targets and deadlines for multiple internal customers simultaneously. 
  • 1+ years of knowledge of State and Federal employment laws and their impact on selection, interviewing, and hiring practices.
  • 2+ years of internal talent programs, and intern/co-op recruiting experience (preferred).
  • Project management experience (preferred).
  • Ability to professionally interact with all levels of management throughout the plant.
