Youth College (Kwai Chung)

Major Duties:
(a) To perform teaching duties including student assessment, operating and maintaining training facilities and equipment to support teaching and learning;
(b) To provide job placement for students of engineering trades;
(c) To carry out student and academic related administrative duties, such as timetabling, assessment schedules, admission, job placement and study guidance;
(d) To organize and conduct industrial visits, programme publicity, road shows, exhibitions, career seminars, special events and competitions;
(e) To develop and maintain networks with schools, the industry, related associations, professional bodies and government departments to promote the VTC Earn and Learn Scheme and in-services programmes;
(f) To prepare and analyze statistical reports and records on student / trainee recruitment and placement; and
(g) To handle matters in relation to programme publicity and administration, and enquiries regarding to trainee recruitment and job placement.

Requirements:
(a) A recognized higher diploma in the discipline of Engineering or equivalent;
(b) At least 6 years’ work or teaching experience in the relevant industry;
(c) Proficiency in English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua;
(d) Good supervisory, communication and interpersonal skills, and proven administrative abilities;
(e) Proactive, self-motivated and willing to learn; and
(f) Pass a trade test.

Notes:
(1) The post is in the rank of “Senior Instructor”.
(2) Candidates without the required academic qualification stated in (a) in the Requirements above but possessing 12 years’ work or teaching experience in the relevant industry may also apply. Where applicable, these candidates may be required to have a Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 3 qualification.
(3) The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned.
(4) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
