Position Summary:
The cell culture field is undergoing an unprecedented period of growth as emerging technologies such as CRISPR, microfluidic systems, and more are transforming cell biology, and as regenerative medicine such as small biologics, CAR-T cell therapy and gene therapy, are successfully making the transition from the research laboratory to commercialized products. Providing a key role in sustaining the trajectory of our position in this evolving market space, the regional cell culture scientist will provide technical support to customers within the biopharma, academic and clinical market segments and applications assistance for our cell culture equipment and internal teams while maintaining critical customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Product Portfolio Support
- Provide technical cell culturing expertise and product applications support for customers, field sales representatives and internal stakeholders as needed, to assist in successfully addressing business opportunities and driving growth in alignment with portfolio goals both in the field and remotely
- Serve as customer facing subject matter expert, demonstrating product competence and hands on familiarity of priorities and challenges customers face
- Perform field visits as necessary to customer sites to investigate/suggest resolution to complex biological issues as needed, relative to products supported
- Generate technical articles, blog posts, and other applications based marketing materials to support product line strategy to the marketplace. Produce and deliver technical presentations to potential customers to address technical concerns, installation or applications issues and to drive product adoption and sales growth.
- Design and deliver training materials and programs that will assist commercial colleagues in better understanding and communicating the technical basis of our products and their usage to prospects
Business Enablement
- Conduct market research and voice of customer (VOC) and validate data to drive decisions on development of product plans and identification of new opportunities, preparing reports to communicate findings to product management teams
- Interface sales, service and product management teams serving as a liaison between the customers and the business
- Interact with marketing team to drive new initiatives, develop technical customer facing content and provide consultative support with scientific material
- Continuously monitor and evaluate emerging scientific developments impacting customer needs and communicate to product management teams providing a market sensing mechanism to highlight new opportunities or gaps in current portfolio
- Make connections across business units and divisions, seeking to synergize product solutions and identify new business potential
- Attend scientific conferences and events to present technical materials, identify developing scientific trends and make key connections with opinion leaders
Education and Experience Requirements
- PhD in life sciences, chemistry or similar field preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a cell culture laboratory. Industrial experience within GMP environment and regulated products is highly preferred
- Proficiency with immunotherapy, cell therapy, or viral production is desired
- Experience working with customers, commercial teams and varied sales channels is preferred
Professional Characteristics:
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and persuasive communication skills are required
- Fluency in English is required; fluency in another Asian (prefer Mandarin) language is a plus

- Experienced in developing and delivering effective technical presentations to scientific personnel and management
- Results driven with strong problem solving orientation, the ability to think critically to overcome hurdles to complete tasks
- Previous successful experience in developing customer relations with demonstrable judgement and ability to manage proprietary and confidential information
- Willingness to travel (including internationally), approximately 30%
