As a Regional Customer Director – Respiratory Immunology in West Region, you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to have positive impact on changing patients’ lives.
Respiratory disease is one of AstraZeneca's three strategic priorities, and we have a growing portfolio of medicines that reach millions of patients each year. We hold an outstanding position in respiratory disease, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). We are developing novel combinations, biologics and devices to treat patients. We have a robust pipeline that includes a number of promising assets in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases within areas such as psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, systemic lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.
What you’ll do
The Regional Customer Director will be part of the Respiratory & Immunology US team, supporting the Immunology Franchise team and other partners across an area/region to identify and develop current/future External Scientific Experts (ESEs Rheumatologists and other targeted specialist for activities based on Commercial Value to drive greater engagement and advocacy for the Immunology Franchise. This position will report directly into the Executive Business Director of Sales Immunology and dotted line reporting into the brand team.
As Regional Customer Director Immunology you will be accountable for:
- Responsible for quality, breadth & depth of Rheumatologists Commercial External Scientific Experts (ESEs) relationships at region/area level.
- Utilize input from external key opinion leaders to help build market leadership, advocacy and commercial strategies, through appropriate tactics (Ad boards, Expert Panels, Symposiums and 1:1 engagements).
- Expand AstraZeneca’s partner relationships with ESEs (Rheumatologists, Immunology networks and Patient Advocacy groups) improving disease state understanding and patient care.
- Collaborate and work in close partnership with internal partners: Sales, Brand Team, Medical Affairs, Market Access & Global to ensure franchise has a market leadership presence with Health Care Professionals (HCP) and key accounts.
- Establish AZ as a leader in Lupus Treatment at Regional/National congresses/conferences
- Responsible for leading small/medium regional congresses (Product Theaters/speaker programs, booths & ESE interactions.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Previous experience in multiple commercial and/or Medical Affairs roles (Sales, District Sales, Brand Team, Market Access and or Medical Affairs).
- Clinical experience in Immunology / Rare disease experience along with relationships with Rheumatologists / immunologists is strongly preferred.
- Average of 10 or more years work experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech.
- Consistent track record of achievement in assigned responsibilities, goals, objectives and any other relevant metrics.
- Experience and efficiency in the presentation of written and verbal business cases to the most senior Management.
- Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills, resourcefulness and a proven ability to deal with complexity under time pressure.
Desired Requirements:
- Preference for candidate to live within market, which includes the following US States: Colorado, Arizona and California (Los Angeles or San Francisco)
- Second degree, e.g. MBA. PhD
