Regional Director of Sales, Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan – Corporate Office

Headquartered in Hong Kong, Wharf Hotels is the hotel management company for Niccolo and Marco Polo Hotels.  The expanding hotel group is seeking a Regional Director of Sales, Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan with a solid sales and leadership experience at the Corporate Office in Hong Kong. Assisting Group Director Global Sales, the Associate will be responsible for the sales function for Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan at Wharf Hotels.

Your Skills:

  • Cultivate and develop the Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan market through the establishment of relationships with buyers and travel influencers.
  • Conduct sales presentations and prospect for leads to develop mutually beneficial business partnerships within all business segments.
  • Initiate, formulate, and coordinate solicitation to accounts and business’s with relevancy for all Wharf hotels.
  • Act as the regional owner to lead our hotel teams in the understanding of the market and account development mainly in Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan.
  • Develop a strong pipeline of leads for conversion to actualized business within the MICE segment.
  • Acquire, develop and maintain relationship with business partners to:
    • be selected as preferred hotels through global contracting (RFP) of Global Corporate Accounts
    • sign regional contract with Regional Corporate Accounts
    • get hotels featured in brochure or promotional flyers of leisure accounts
    • receive more MICE lead from MICE Planner
  • Initiate and execute sales promotions, including but not limited to direct mail campaigns and join marketing activities in the respective markets during need period.
  • Co-ordinate WHM participation in major regional travel trade shows and exhibitions to ensure the proper market presence.
  • Attend selective trade shows and conduct regional sales trips.
  • Assist hotels in delivering information and recommendations to develop strategic action plans.

You are:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as DOS or ADOS of a hotel or regional sales.
  • Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. 
  • Familiar with Word, Excel and Power-point.
  • Strong inter-personal relationship and communication skills, both internal and external.
  • Independent and a self-starter with good planning and prioritizing skills.
  • The ability to build strong relationship and to work with all level of staff.
  • Able to understand, analyze, anticipate and meet hotels’ and customers’ need with creative solutions or recommendations.
  • Capable in decision-making to be supported by sound and well thought out recommendation.
  • Good understanding of the Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan markets.
