The role of a Regional Helpdesk Manager is to:

  • Report to the IT Director – Greater China & North Asia
  • Act along with the other Regional Helpdesk Managers as part of the Triage Team for the Greater China & North Asia region.
  • By utilizing the trouble ticketing system, act as an escalation point for local resources and business partners across the region.
  • Manage a small IT Helpdesk team to provide quality and prompt service to local and remote users
  • Oversee Level 1 technical support and IT delivery solutions.
  • Perform troubleshooting, identify the root cause, provide quality solutions, and understand the escalation process.
  • Cooperate with regional and global teams for support, troubleshooting, and new services implementation.
  • Ensure strategy from the center is communicated and delivered.
  • Feedback to the IT Director, key issues and concerns arising from Helpdesk Support staff and businesses, as well as successful initiatives and progress in the region.
  • Ensure spend approval processes are followed and no spend outside of approved budget.
  • Control local inventory.

 

The ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related IT qualifications.
  • Minimum 5 years of IT experience with 3+ years in a multinational corporation on the Helpdesk.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in an IT management role.
  • Good management skills and the ability to interface with users and resources at all levels.
  • Good understanding and application of ITIL practices.
  • Good understanding of Active Directory, Office365, deployment management tools (SCCM and Jamf).
  • Excellent understanding of Windows7-10, MacOSX, Server 2008-2016, and Linux (Cloud services management experience a plus).
  • A motivated, proactive, and committed team player is required to succeed in this role.
  • Significant flexibility is needed as will be covering a large geographic region.
  • Excellent communication skills, professional appearance and customer service skills required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in both English and Cantonese (Mandarin a plus)
