JOB TITLE: Regional Institutional Marketing Manager – Greater China

Position Summary and General Description:
The Regional Institutional Marketing Manager, is responsible for all content marketing and customer engagement activities within the Academic, Corporate and Government sectors within the Greater China region. This position will manage all online marketing and customer engagement program activities with a special focus on lead generation, retention, sales resources and engagement logistics/planning.
The Regional Manager will work closely with the global Institutional Content and Customer Engagement marketing teams to ensure that best practices and workflows are created and put in place within the respective region. Specifically he/she will work closely with local Account Development regarding shared marketing plans, activities and opportunities. They will also work closely with regional sales management to align campaigns and engagement activities around sales initiatives and revenue goals.
Institutional Content Marketing responsibilities include:
- Lead generation and nurturing
- Retention
- Local institutional marketing positioning and strategy
- Customer communications
- Sales and marketing resource (translations)
Institutional Customer Engagement responsibilities include all pre and post engineering and management of the following activities:
- Library advisory board
- Summits
- Virtual events (excluding training)
- Exhibits/conferences
The Regional Manager will also work closely with various other Springer Nature departments including editorial, marketing services and product management as needed in order to coordinate the execution of various marketing programs and initiatives in the region. This position is also responsible for preparing a detailed annual budget and regional marketing plan for the Great China institutional market and for tracking and maintaining the budget.
Job Duties:
- Determine and implement marketing strategy in Greater China markets by analyzing local-specific data and market trends, sales feedback, customer feedback and overall revenue results and targets.
- Manage all Institutional Sales and Marketing efforts regarding conference and exhibit logistics, set-up and post event activities. Will work closely with global Customer Engagement team regarding timing, strategy, etc.
- Strengthen the regional position of Springer Nature’s academic, corporate and government product/institutional marketing activities with main focus on eJournals, eBooks and databases through various marketing tactics including dynamic eMail campaigns, eNewsletters and social media.
- Coordinate sales driven digital marketing lead generation activities with appropriate sales and product management including online lead generation (librarian and end user), brand awareness, etc. Will work closely will global Content Marketing team regarding campaign timing, messaging and strategy.
- Analyze markets, market segments and competitor activities to increase the effectiveness of marketing activities including evidence based marketing projects (i.e. surveys, focus groups, white papers). Activities will be aligned with global Content Marketing.
- Coordinate Greater China sales collateral and giveaways.
- Manage marketing project database/budgeting forecasts.
- Basic knowledge of Hybris/SAP CRM or related systems.
- Align with global Content Marketing team to track lead generation and ROI for designated marketing campaigns on a monthly basis.
- Proactively provides sales and marketing management with updates on marketing activities, ROI and budget.
Job Requirements:
- BA in marketing, communications or other related field required, along with three to five years proven experience in operational and strategic marketing in a business to business environment.
- Three to five years of experience in marketing communications, digital marketing, and online media are preferred.
- The candidate should possess strong communication/public speaking skills, excellent Grammar (Mandarin, English)
- Experience in library marketing preferred but not necessary - supporting and working with a sales force in a marketing capacity is a must.
- He/She should be well versed in digital marketing, be willing to facilitate change and possess strong leadership/management skills.
- Capable of multi-tasking and working well under pressure.
- Willing to travel (25%).
