Job Description

REGIONAL MANAGING DIRECTOR

 

This position will part of Cohesive, a subsidiary of Bentley Systems. Cohesive Group is a full lifecycle digital integrator delivering transformational outcomes through the built and natural environment. We have brought together the best of the industries digital capabilities in each of the ‘Deliver’, ‘Operational’ and ‘Optimisation’ asset stages under the banner of “Better Together”, to create a truly integrated approach to manage our client’s assets and services using up to date technology and Digital Twins. We work in three regions (North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific) creating partnerships and collaborations to provide outstanding service and advice. We work in close partnership with our clients to improve their Financial, Social and Environmental outcomes. We leverage the skills and expertise of our teams and a select handful of high-calibre complimentary partners to meet and exceed expectations.

 

Specific Role and Context

The Regional Managing Director or General Manager in Asia Pacific (RMD) is responsible for controlling and overseeing all business operations, people and ventures, and is responsible for the overall success of the reginal business including colleague health and safety, and profit and loss. The RMD is expected to be the strategist and a leader who is able to steer the business to the most profitable direction while implementing the Cohesive vision, mission and long-term goals. The goal is to ensure the business is constantly moving towards fulfilling its short-term and long-term objectives and does not diverge from its strategic guidelines. There will be no standard day-to-day agenda. The role will require a highly adaptive person who is able to work remotely and at Cohesive/client offices as required to meet the needs of Cohesive assignments. Cohesive and Client sites are located across Europe, the US and Asia Pacific.

Job Requirements (Responsibilities and Accountabilities)

· Develop and direct the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that the company complies with all health and safety and other statutory regulations

· Health & Safety and wellbeing of all colleagues

· Direct and control the work and resources of the company and ensure the recruitment and retention of the required numbers and types of well-motivated, trained and developed staff to ensure that it achieves its mission and objectives.

· Prepare and secure approval for a regional plan and annual business objectives and monitor progress against these plans to ensure that the region attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible, and that revenue flows are maximised and fixed costs are minimised

· Provide strategic advice and guidance to the CEO, to keep them aware of developments within the industry and ensure that the appropriate policies are developed and implemented to meet the business mission and objectives and to comply with all relevant statutory and other regulations.

· Establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with major customers, relevant Government departments and agencies, local authorities, key decision-makers and other stakeholders, to exchange information and views and to ensure that the company is providing the appropriate range and quality of services.

· Contribute to the definition of Cohesive research and development programmes to ensure that the company remains at the forefront of the industry, providing leading edge solutions to clients

· Develop and maintain an effective sales and public relations strategy, promoting the products, services and image of the business in the wider community

· Represent the company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, government departments and other key contacts to secure for it the most effective contract terms.

· Implement Total Quality Management systems throughout the company to ensure that the best possible solutions are provided to customers (including ISO 9001)

· Develop, promote and direct the implementation of policies which promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the company’s work.

· Provide a monthly report regarding regional activities, and a narrative to the period’s management accounts

· Build and enhance the public profile of the business in conjunction with Marketing and the Cohesive Business Development Director

· Represent the interest of the Region at the Cohesive Management Committee

· Adhere to and implement all relevant Bentley Systems policies and governance

· Develop and implement a strategy to achieve nett zero for the region.

 

Job Skills & Knowledge (Essential)

· A proven record of success in senior level general or commercial management, preferably in a related industry

· At least 10 years’ senior level experience of management of people and resources

· Experience managing the P&L of a similar fee earning organisation

· Excellent organisational and leadership skills

· Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

· Learns quickly and has strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

· Develops strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

· Thorough knowledge of market challenges and forces that influence the business

· Familiarity with corporate law and management best practices

· Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance

· High level of commercial awareness

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill

 

Qualifications

Essential

Graduate level preferably with a degree in a management discipline or a professional qualification Desirable

Master’s degree in a management discipline or a professional qualification
