Eaton Corporation’s Bussmann Division is currently seeking a Regional Sales Director. This position is based out of our Mississauga, Ontario location.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Vice Preside of Sales, the Canadian Regional Sales Director has responsibility of supporting internal and external communications, problem solving and resolution, as well as liaison with specifically targeted accounts.
This position promotes the principle sales philosophy that will convince Distribution, OEM’s, and their manufacturing partners to utilize Bussmann products in the design and use of their equipment/products and to specify Bussmann products. This approach will be directed specifically at the Canadian account locations and expanded to include all locations of targeted accounts. The intent is to create a successful program that will accomplish the Division’s sales objectives and create a “differentiation” in the market for Bussmann products. The Regional Sales Director will have the direct responsibility for implementing this strategy.
The Regional Sales Director works with all levels of management to coordinate, develop, and implement a distributor strategy. Coordination with marketing, engineering, customer service, RSAs, manufacturing and finance departments is necessary to create and implement the strategy. The Regional Sales Director should have an appropriate understanding of application requirements, manufacturing processes, both internal and external, industry standards, test procedures, quality assurance programs, and a strong business and technical background.
Primary responsibilities of this position are to plan, coordinate, and manage the commercial field sales team for Bussmann in Canada. The objectives are attained through individual sales and management efforts of the territory and associated field sales team. The position will work cooperatively with sales, marketing management personnel who have adjacent responsibilities for field sales growth and product margin management.
In this function you will:
- Plan and direct the efforts of sales personnel in securing sales volume in accordance with prescribed objectives.
- Develop and maintain liaison with top management of national or regional facilities of key accounts and distributor branch offices located within the region.
- Analyze sales levels and trends, and initiates action as necessary to ensure attainment of sales objectives.
- Develop and recommend an annual sales plan, forecasts, and objectives for the region domestically and for transfer business.
- Develop and maintain a staff of qualified, skilled, and motivated sales personnel
- Ensure that appropriate technical assistance including training programs for distributors and field sales personnel regarding the application of products.
- Provide data to regional and divisional management on business product trends, technology trends, and competitive situations.
- Recommend new, modified, or expanded products or markets.
Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 5 years of field sales experience in the electrical industry
- Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 80 kilometers of the Mississauga, Ontario location.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in written and conversational French.
