The Regional Security Manager (RSM) ensures a proper level of security/emergency response/risk management for employees, operational processes, and other assets of the Region Americas against threats and risks resulting from unauthorized actions, fire incidents, and natural phenomenon.  He/She oversees the planning, organization, control, as well as the realization of BMW Group wide security processes, policies, legal and regulatory requirements.

The RSM is responsible for the overall protection of company assets, people, and information. They support the growth and expansion of the company by implementing safety and security best practices.  The position oversees an internal BMW security team as well as the external security service provider contract for BMW NA. This position has significant opportunities and impact on innovations and process improvements to the business throughout the Americas Region.

Key accountabilities of the function:

• Risk management, crisis management, leadership, collaboration, change manager, transformation, innovation, strategy, and sustainability.
• Assess, plan, steer, control, document and report security assets, risks, incidents, deviations, measures, and regional security resources in the Americas region.
• Ensure adherence to security / emergency response policies, legal and regulatory requirements throughout the Americas Region.
• Project management, budget, financial planning, and driving the security strategy for the Americas region.
• Manage collaboration with external law enforcement to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field
• Advanced training or certifications relevant to the position
• Minimum 10 years in law enforcement, corporate security, or an equivalent position
• Minimum 7 years in leadership or management experience
• This position requires international experience and liaison with international law enforcement and other government agencies

Preferences:

• Major program and/or project management experience
• Advanced law enforcement training and/or professional certifications
