Eaton’s Electrical Services and Systems is currently seeking a Regional Support Engineer – Boothwyn, PAPower Systems Automation to join our team. This position is based at our Hanover, MD / Manassas OR Sandston, VA / Franklin, MA / Moutainside, NJ / Boothwyn, PA / Morrisville OR Charlotte, NC / Columbia, SC Position Overview: The Power Systems Automation (PSA) team is a full-service systems integrator with the capabilities to integrate the necessary equipment and technologies, to provide a complete, power monitoring solution. This team of engineers and technicians brings extensive skills and experiences with a variety of leading HMI software packages enabling us to design graphically rich, easy-to-use operator interfaces that take advantage of the latest standalone or web-based technologies. Our experience transcends a multitude of equipment manufacturers, software packages, and network architectures. We offer single point responsibility, a high level of engineering and systems integration expertise, and unified focus on cost effective solutions, seamless integration, HMI development, energy management tools, and professional turnkey system design and implementation. The core responsibilities of this position include overseeing day-to-day operations of the PSA zone, including allocating field service labor, engineering and sales support for the operation. Requiring minimal supervision, the Regional Support Engineer will assist in managing the zone job schedule and backlog, including preparation of job plans, budgets, schedules, personnel requirements and/or other tasks as required. The Engineer will assist the Team Leader in developing short term business financial forecasts, developing and implementing the annual profit plan, and developing initial cost estimates to PSA sales team for commercial proposals. Primary (Operational) Functions: The Regional Support Engineer regularly works with and provides technical support for PSA Field Engineers and PDS Field Service Representatives and as these teams execute PSA’s EPMS projects in the field. Assist with administration of the zone job schedule and backlog, including preparation of job plans, budgets, schedules, and service reports. Provide timely, detailed and accurate reports on service work performed, product performance, and warranty liabilities to company expense and time allocation. Assist with continuous improvement of PSA’s operational processes and procedures, leveraging automation to streamline workflows, and developing solutions for inefficiencies. Keep current with EPMS product technology as measured by ability to troubleshoot and repair various products, provide application support, and to instruct others. Demonstrate ability to apply new EPMS solutions, utilizing both existing and new software platforms, to meet the ever-changing needs of PSA’s customer base. Maintain service equipment inventory, including all test equipment and tools issued to field service team. Assist with procurement and maintenance of PPE for field resources. Be comfortable with utilization of laptops, workstations, and server hardware. Be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) Maintain 50% utilization goal Secondary (Operational) Functions: Provide on-site implementation of Power Management and mission critical monitoring and control systems including Foreseer, Power Xpert, PowerNet, and next generation Power Monitoring platforms, on an as-needed basis. Demonstrate safety consciousness in equipment handling, electrical and electronic procedures, and the unique situations encountered at diverse work sites. Continuously improve personal, technical and professional business skills enabling incumbent to service products to customer’s satisfaction. Other functions as business needs arise. Secondary (Commercial) Functions: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers and other groups within the service organization such as PDS, PSE, PSC, and software & metering business units to assure customer satisfaction. Support PSA sales team with developing initial costing for commercial proposals. Provide customers with basic application information via phone or on-site consultation. Attend district and zone meetings, with a focus on presenting/promoting PSA’s capabilities, as required to augment the zone PMAM and PSA Team Leader. Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the work location(s) listed. No relocation is being offered for this position. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or engineering technology from an accredited institution. Project Management Professional Networking certifications (CCT, CCENT, CCNA) Security certifications (CISSP, CompTIA Security+) Microsoft certifications (Azure, IoT, Server/AD) Virtualization experience (VMware, Hyper-V) Position Criteria: Successfully complete and maintain compliance with Eaton's safety program and policies. Periodically submit to background and drug screens as required by customers for on-site work. Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted drivers licence. Detailed knowledge of Eaton EPMS software offerings, such as Foreseer, PowerXpert, PowerNet, as well as associated products such as MSSQL and MS OS. Foreseer certifications (L1/L2/Adv. Apps) Experience in EPMS system design, specification, and field implementation. Experience in deployment of complex industrial network systems, including serial communications, industrial protocol gateways, Ethernet, fiber-optics, wireless, and MESH networks. Working knowledge of Eaton’s business tools (Qlikview, VISTA, etc.) Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license. Application knowledge of power quality meters, trip units, protective relays and UPS’ Experience with troubleshooting, testing and repair techniques pertaining to industrial communications, automation, and power management systems. EPMS and/or BMS commissioning experience Basic understanding of competitor’s automation and power management systems and services. Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with automation and power management systems. Skillset: Candidate must demonstrate strong organizational, project, time and task management skills, with use of personal computers and software systems to manage and track numerous priorities. Candidate requires minimal supervision to manage the Zone’s job schedule and financial backlog. Demonstrates ability to develop and maintain customer relationships and resolve complaints, handling irate or difficult customers, driving toward customer satisfaction. Demonstrates an awareness of customer needs, preferences, time and financial constraints. Demonstrates sound financial and commercial knowledge. Strength in leadership and coaching/mentoring of both field and office personnel. Knowledge and understanding of the electrical industry, EESS / PSA organizations, EPMS products and solutions including competitor offerings and capabilities. Candidate needs to have a working knowledge of the overall sales function, customer channels to market, and negotiation techniques and must be able to assist in the generation of proposals and negotiations Excellent interpersonal and communication/presentation skills Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings.
