Reporting to the Associate Vice-President (Academic Affairs), the appointee will lead and oversee the operation of the Registry, and be responsible for (i) the planning and implementation of all aspects of the University policies concerning student admissions, academic development and quality assurance, registration, records, assessments, and administration of academic programmes; (ii) the provision of administrative and secretarial support to the Senate and its standing committees; (iii) secretarial support to groups in charge of (a) the preparation of triennium Planning Exercise proposals, (b) the preparation of the University Strategic Plan and the monitoring of its implementation, and (c) any other University level academic initiative; and (iv) the promotion of academic programmes and engagement with the secondary school sector and local community. Apart from ensuring the continuity of quality service provided by the Registry, the appointee is expected to lead the team to drive changes for service enhancement and promotion of liberal arts education that will take the University to its next level of academic development and excellence.

 

Requirements 

Applicants should have (i) a solid academic background, preferably in possession of a postgraduate degree, with extensive relevant experience; (ii) a proven track record of dedication and excellence in the field of higher education; (iii) superb writing skills; (iv) outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with an excellent command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and (v) strong organizational, problem-solving and leadership skills with an ability to inspire and motivate others to address emerging challenges. A proven ability to interact effectively and build positive relationships and collaborations with internal and external stakeholders is a must. They are also expected to have a good understanding of liberal arts education and the operation of publicly-funded universities in Hong Kong.

 

Salary and Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
