We are currently recruiting for a Release Analyst to join our Technical Change Team in Nottingham, but applications are welcomed from those that can complete the role remotely. The role will support the Release Manager to deliver the Release Management function and other associated disciplines i.e. Change and Environment Management and is an interesting and varied role. Siemens Digital Grid is the leading global supplier of solutions for the intelligent transmission and distribution of energy. At the core of our digital services is Siemens Managed Services which leads the way through the provision of value add services including; smart metering to communications and billing; Data management & analytics and software-led energy management solutions. Our customers range from residential, commercial & industrial through to any type of generation and production utility. Responsibilities: Assist in the delivery of the IS release schedule to ensure that the workload is effectively managed, planned and communicated. This includes: - Assistance in release implementations to ensure milestone adherence to the agreed schedule Recording and analysis of all releases to IS systems Participate in design meetings where required Assist in the logical grouping of CRs for input to the release management lifecycle Input into the process for scheduling test & development resource Co-ordination of release test phase Co-ordination of back out procedures Co-ordination of technical staff during release implementation Identification of risks, escalating as appropriate Assist in the management of third party and internal software suppliers to ensure that software development is completed in line with business priorities and delivered in line with quality standards. Participate in Supplier Review Meetings, including engagement with core software providers to manage software releases and on-going issues. Provide input into Customer Focus Meetings to provide updates on scheduled releases. Adhere and manage releases against appropriate controls, release gates, documentation and management information to support the release process Co-ordination of IS project implementations, including; Tracking of core program activities Input into, and support of, activity milestone plans Communication of program activity status and development of management reporting information Support technical resource with delivery of program activities Reporting of risks, issues and program status Facilitation and assistance with Service Acceptance processes. Engagement with Operations and Develop to ensure smooth transition of new IS services The key skills required to be successful in this role: Excellent planning and analytical skills Ability to take the lead on areas of responsibility and to challenge Previous experience in coordinating cross functional activities and negotiating Excellent influencing and communication skills, both written and oral Excellent presentation, organisation and facilitation skills Project management capabilities and experience Actively contribute to improve processes by analysing problems and recommending changes to prevent re-occurrence ITIL qualified to foundation level (desirable) Experience in change and release management disciplines (desirable) Demonstrable knowledge of process improvement (desirable) We’ve got quite a lot to offer.
