The Reliability Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise to improve equipment reliability through application of reliability tools, methodologies, and best engineering principles. Identifies and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. Provides direct support, and supervises Corrective, Preventive, Predictive and Proactive Maintenance activities in accordance to stipulated production schedules. Administrate and uses the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document activities, prepare reports, and analyze data to identify trends, take appropriate corrective action and increase equipment/facilities reliability and uptime. Uses Lean / 6 Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

-    Develops and implement site strategies that accelerate and improve current Maintenance and Reliability performance. Strategies include work process improvement, as well as the implementation of best practices and technology. Evaluates plant and equipment unscheduled downtime magnitude, and identify opportunities for reliability enhancement. Leads the team to manage and find solutions for equipment problems.

- Support operational business units with the identification of reliability improvement opportunities, and assists in delivering high impact, cost-effective solutions using advanced reliability analysis tools and techniques. Develops and implement processes for addressing asset reliability deficiencies. Performs Root Cause analysis on failed equipment, and data capture on equipment cost and downtime. Updates current bad-actor priority list (reliability opportunities) as well as alignment with appropriate technical resources to implement reliability solutions.

- Ensure that the appropriate Maintenance and Reliability metrics are in place throughout the site (asset utilization (OEE), planned/unplanned work, planning/scheduling metrics, cost metrics, MT BF, etc.

- Develop and implement equipment predictive and preventative maintenance programs, as well as performs site critical equipment analysis. 

- Generate and provide training programs on Maintenance and Reliability including Craft skills and Operator care programs. Support site TPM initiatives.

- Review, modify and/or generate Standard Operating Procedures for the respective areas. Provide job instructions and technical advice to comply with standards, codes, best practices, or others as applicable. Responsible for the subordinate instruction and continuous development. Ensures that staff is technically trained in complex maintenance activities.

- Responsible for the maintenance area continuous improvement process. Uses Lean / Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement. Lead Kaizen events in the department.

- Has contributory responsibility for expenses and budget assigned to the area. Initiate requisitions for materials and services.  Incorporate spare parts and perform changes to the mechanical store inventory levels.

- Applies advance reliability tools, techniques and analyses such as fault tree analysis, life data analysis, accelerated analysis, FMEA and related reliability best practices.

- Generate, execute, or approve equipment change request packages for equipment modifications. Perform and/or participate in the generation and execution of installation, operational, and Performance qualifications. Participates or support the investigation activities of atypical events.

- Supervises a staff of multi skills maintenance technicians. Determine workloads and prioritizes maintenance activities. Oversee the manage area and staff compliance posture. Comply with all Compliance guidelines, audits, procedures, training, practices, permit conditions, and internal notification of any deviation event. Implements safety programs and manage area to ensure a work safe environment. Responsible for on the job safety and housekeeping in the maintenance shop. Manage area work permits and LOTO procedures.

- Plans and schedule Maintenance activities. and works closely with representatives from manufacturing or supported areas to minimize interference with routine operations.

- Respond to corrective maintenance activities as requested, and directs the work of staff and utilization of resources to make the necessary repair in a cost-effective and timely manner, Responsible tot the productivity and quality of work of assigned persons and for the close out of work orders.

- Maintains and manage the Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance programs (PdM) tor the assigned area, and uses Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document activities, prepare reports, and analyzes data to identity trend* takes appropriate corrective action and/or make recommendations.

- CMMS gatekeeper and administrator for site. Provides technical guidance for maintenance and reliability data by evaluating the CMMS data history for accuracy, consistency and quality, ensures compliance with the best reliability practices. Optimizes and assures full utilization of existing CMMS, and uses it to manage work flow, resources, cost, spare parts, etc.

Qualifications:

- Advanced computer skills on MS Office suit

- Highly developed human relation skills to direct and aid subordinate personnel for self motivation, addressing competing and conflicting situations. Ability to develop and manage good working relationships with internal departments, contractors, suppliers, and customers

- Strong mechanical / instrumentation / electrical knowledge, and aptitude.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to speak and write the English language, using correct grammar and spelling.

- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.

- Ability to produce high quality reports and deliver presentations to multiple levels of the organization.

- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and the tools associated with failure detection (i.e. vibration analysis, oil monitoring, thermography) as well as the software associated with them.

- Experience with reliability practices, mechanical integrity and predictive/preventative maintenance in the Chemical or Pharmaceutical Industry.

- Demonstrated continuous improvement orientation in producing upgraded systems, processes and preventive measures.

- Must have the ability to plan, organize, and direct maintenance and repair operations.

Education:

-Bachelors' degree in science; Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineer or Chemical Engineer

Experience:

5 years in maintenance of a chemical plant, reliability engineering, or related fields.
